"Time isn't in lines! It's in circles! That's why clocks are round!"

-Michael J. Caboose

I have been doing some research on ODST and while watching an Xplay interview with Mr.sark who apparently played firefight, he said some unsettling things. Now he may have stumbled on his own words but
He said something like "firefight is an all new third person multiplayer mode, taken directly from Gears 2"
Third person WTF? And as much as I doubt that something More realistic is bothering me.
On Halopedia and a few other sources the firefight description talks about System link and Xbox live but never mentions whether or not its playable locally! I often have friends over and this would KILL ODST for me if this is true. Halo 3 supported local so why not its expansion?

Will someone clear this up for me?

It's not 3rd person. As for the other question, I thought it was 2 people per box and you could have 4 people on a system link, not sure if that's still the case, or if that's just for campaign, though.

It's a FPS, not third person shooter.

Of course you can play it locally. It's just 2 people per Xbox is all, I do believe.

Here’s what Luke had to say about the differences in treatment between the Spartans and Elites in Reach:

“Instead of piece-by-piece customization like the Spartans, Elite customization is a full model swap with models selected from the various Elite classes appearing throughout the Campaign. There are all kinds of reasons for this, not the least of which is our continued emphasis on the Spartan as your identity in Reach.”

2 people per box, 4 people per game, just like the Halo 3 campaign.

And just like the Halo 3 campaign, there will be no matchmaking system for it.

There are multiple gameplay videos that show Firefight to be first person.

I WARNED YOU ABOUT STAIRS BRO!!!

I TOLD YOU DOG!

I TOLD YOU MAN

I TOLD YOU ABOUT STAIRS

Actually, Marathon: Durandal had a Survival mode that pitted you against endless waves of enemies, so it's not really taken from Gears 2.
