This article is pretty interesting.

It basically states that Microsoft has patented the right for drop-in drop-out coop for squad based shooters.

Do you think this involves Halo:Reach in any way?

I find this extremely odd and am unsure what to make of it.

could be a squad based system so you don't have to quit and resart the campein if a person want s to join. that would be cool

I don't understand why something like this has to be patented. It's not exactly a unique idea.

The whole reason of patents is so someone doesn't take your idea essentially. Common ideas and whatnot shouldn't be patented. What if ID got the right to patent first person shooters. Yea, that'd suck.

The patent is most likely because they are announcing a second Brute Force and I agree that patenting this idea is unconstitutional. What, has the world gone so corrupt that they forgo the constitution?

That actually makes more sense but yes it is a ridiculous patent.
