I think should be able to change your Armour and they should take different effects like the CQB Armour makes you melee faster or reload faster.

Lt Sartor: Dare kills her squad 4 r3c0n
goatman327]: they start bangin each other (buck and dare) in the back of the pelican in the end(thats y she kill squad, so they could hav some privacy on the ride home)
Graham 8D: 21 and didn't get. Not really bothered tho :) I just want that sexy body and one shoulder..

Imagine how unbalanced that would be.

Neat idea. Would recon make the grunts bow down and worship you before using their suicide ability on their former friends? And hyabusa should make all your allies insult yoou as pretentious and refuse to help you, instead stealing the warthog and leaving you to walk.

Not really, not if every armour had a unique ability that balanced out with the others. They would basically be like aesthetic skulls.

the flight armor for the elites could make any aircraft vehicles last longer

I wouldn't mind changeble armor for the campaign to upgrade your character to better suite the battlefield, but let's keep it out of Matchmaking. It would be really unbalanced and it would be a heck of a lot of programing.

Well then it won't be the same story because the character looks different.

just cause he looks different the story dosn't have to be different, there was CQB armor when reach was around. on the front of the latest halo book the cole protocol, the spartan on the front was wearing CQB and that book was based while MC was in halo 1

Ya, ill take 1 armor peice that makes me 10% stronger and the rest make me take less damage, now any sniper shot is a 1 hit kill and you have the same health has a hunter

  • 07.22.2009 6:03 PM PDT

why are you looking at this?

that would be cool. but you should only start out with one type of armor and get the other types by completing achievements that have to do with the ability that the armor has. example- EOD(take less damage from explosives) unlocked when- getting a certain amount of kills with explosives.

edit: and if you wear a combination of different armors the effects of the armors get decreased. such as. eod (full) = 20% less damage taken from explosives, scout (full) = 20% faster, scout/eod mix (50%) 10% explosive resistance 10% faster.

For the campaign, hell yes. If Halo ever made it to MMO standards different armors would be dope. But for now leave it to the campaign. To bad the campaign is just a never ending battle feild were you would just missions when they called. It would be awesome if Reach was just one huge planet you could completely venture on, and to do missions you would just recieve them via COM and go to a LZ. As you ventured around however there would be mini missions where you helped out sqauds or something like that.

But back to topic, what if you could actually make your own variants with different attributes. that would be great. it would be cool to see the varients in matchmaking excluding the attributes applied of course.

god of course u should i wish i could use my matchmaking armor in campaign after i beat it in three but reach is about fall of spartans so u should be able to make your character look awesome at any time in your fav armor

If you want to see the MC die, play Legendary. If you want to see MC finish the fight, play Halo 3. If you want to see MC finish the fight by dieing, why did you waste six years when you could have done it yourself right now?

Custom armor for Campaign? Good idea. Custom attributes of the armor? Not so much.

It's been a long time since I've read the book, but are there spartans that fought on Reach that had unknown names? Wouldn't it be cool if you could make your own spartan for the campaign? Choose a class, etc

<Classes for campaign only>

  • 07.22.2009 6:46 PM PDT

get out of here stalker

If the abilities were restricted to campaign, that would be fine. And just because you're aesthetically different, doesn't mean the story changes..
