Subject: The ability to call in support

No thanks. Doesn't work too well on maps like Construct or Rat's Nest.

Finally give some use to the D pad besides a flashlight. Oh yeh, by the way, FLASHLIGHT is horible. There is no way that thing is an LED. NOT BRIGHT ENOUGH.

That would be rather cool. Like in the Halo 2 E3 demo and Halo Wars.

"Shortsword inbound!"

  • 07.22.2009 7:11 AM PDT

Shortsword? is that real? I thought it was longsword.

Longswords are starfighters. Shortswords are atmospheric bombers.

  • 07.22.2009 7:15 AM PDT

The Shortsword is a smaller version of the Longsword, for use in planetary atmosphere whilst the Longsword is best suited the spacial combat.

  • 07.22.2009 7:16 AM PDT

Yep. Love Reach.

To call in support wouldn't be a bad idea. I think it could save you good on legendary.

  • 07.22.2009 7:19 AM PDT

You'd have to have a radio type weapon to call in the strikes, this would mean you could only call in strikes at the price of having only 1 weapon.

  • 07.22.2009 7:21 AM PDT

I hate the BR

calling in mac blasts in campaign

  • 07.22.2009 7:24 AM PDT

Oh. I have never heard of shortswords before. Thanks for letting me know.

Not necessarily. Spartans have built in communication packs and Marines have them as well.

U could always use a little laser pointer (i forget what it called) like soilders use today for bombings. And then point the laser where you want, confirm target, and let it become a crater. Be sure to take cover when using weapon lol.

OMG air support would be freaking sweet. Imagine walking across a battlefield on mp and then seeing a giant mac round explode right in front of you

I should have been more clear, Campaign perk only.

Fair enough, that changes the rules a bit.

I dunno, I can see it happening as a scripted event, but not as some weapon where you can randomly call down airstrikes as you see fit.

Laser designator.

Good idea, kind of ETQW style.

It would be awesome for a campaign perk

No. All airstrikes do is elimate gameplay to be had.

If you're looking at a similar thing, it should be more tatical. Airstrikes are typically charged freebies. I've yet to call for one that was anything more than just free kills/ area cleared.

not realy, the longsword is the heavy bomber, the shortsword is the fighter-bomber
