Give vehicles non regenerating health (Halo 1 style), so people can't go on sprees of 40 kills on 1 Warthog whilst circling the map.

This wouldn't have to kill the inhabitants, just stop them being so dominant. (E.g. if the team is pressed into their base they could pop out and BR/nade the vehicles till they break so they are free to go out into the open again.

Vehicles can really slow down the pace of a game once the team is forced to do nothing but defend their base till the vehicle somehow gets destroyed.

Agreed. Vehicle needs it's own health, NOT the pilot's health. Some unrealistic stuff is good in a game, but this form of unrealism is just plain stupid.

If you want to see the MC die, play Legendary. If you want to see MC finish the fight, play Halo 3. If you want to see MC finish the fight by dieing, why did you waste six years when you could have done it yourself right now?

I respectfully disagree. On maps like Standoff, I've been in an equal number of massive sprees and instant deaths with the Warthog.

A damaged vehicle is much more susceptible to being destroyed than a brand new vehicle and that is fine by me. A new Hog can withstand a sticky, a damaged one can't. A new Scorpion can often withstand a laser strike, a badly damaged one can't.

Although it would be nice if a Hog broke down permanently regardless of driver health it would be more of a pain than a blessing. For instance a damaged Warthog would not be a viable vehicle, so what do you do with it?? Destroy it so it respawns?

Well, to be fair, on Standoff there is a Spartan Laser, two active camos, two Rocket Launchers, two heavy machine guns and quite a few other things that can easily take down a Warthog.

Vehicles are extremely easy to kill. Just because they're the only things you can't kill with a BR doesn't mean you should make them weaker.

On a map such as the aforementioned Standoff, all of the weapons capable of taking down the vehicle are far out where you're required to leave cover - and quickly get gunned down.

The only item you can use is the Power Drainer, and you get one chance every 3(?) minutes to try to get the opposing team with that.

I take your point about it being something that can't be killed with the BR so I look like an MLG whiner, but I mentioned the BR because it's a common start weapon, I could have said the assault rifle too.

If the levels of Reach are more realistically designed, so there are some anti-vehicle weapons in all bases (e.g. Valhalla's Missile Pod, Plasma Pistol & Power Drainer) then I wouldn't request this so heavily, but Valhalla is more of an anomaly.

Make vehicles indistructible and balance the vehicle combat like in Halo CE. I think if a kill a vehicle I deserve to steal it and use it against my enemies. But like in Halo CE vehicles should be more vulnerable to grenades and there would be no lock-on weapons or Splaser.

Okay, that sounds good to me.

An opinion should be the result of thought, not a substitute for it.
- Jef Mallett

The only problem I have with vehicle health (more specifically the Warthog) is how players in specific seats take damage.

For instance, in a fully loaded warthog, the passenger dies first, no matter where you shoot the Warthog, he will always be first to die, followed by the driver, and finally the gunner on the back. This never made sense to me, why would the guy being protected by the Warthog die before the gunner who is far more visible? I gun often and it has never made sense to me why my driver dies when we are stuck on the back of the Warthog, often usually right next to me.

So in a nutshell, yes, I'd like to see more realistically designed vehicles.
