Yes, I know that master Chief is less likely to appear in Halo 3: ODST than Nelson Mandela's hat, and I myself stood against the idea because I thought it was stupid.
But then I saw the new ODST E3 footage on Xbox Live.
Near the end of that interview, the tall man with the tight shirt and the homos*xual haircut (It's a joke, don't stress) asked the short man with the Harry Potter specs - who, incidentally, is quite high up in Bungie's ranks and has the ability to ban me for all of eternity for commenting on his eyewear. Gulp - if there was any chance that we'd be seeing Master Chief in ODST. The short man laughed, then said something along the lines of "We can't reveal anything like that just yet". Go figure.
Anyway, this got me thinking; if Master Chief definitely wasn't going to pop up in the game, wouldn't it be better to just say it instead of telling us that stuff like that can't be revealed? It seems a bit... pointless to me. Unless Mr. Potter knew that somebody would watch the interview and try to second guess him by posting on the Bungie.net forums and asking about it? I wouldn't want to be the guy who does that...
But I suppose that getting Bungie to give you a straight answer is like getting James Morrison to sing. It just ain't happening.
