Subject: the ladder animation is still dodgy

EXEM
A Storage Solution: Active Playlist File Set Project:
Core matchmaking gametypes (non-MLG/Classic/Action Sack):
Current (July 12 update):
Arena+ Team Slayer, BTB, Team Objective, Rumble Pit, 2v2, Multi Team, Team Snipers & SWAT

There's also the issue that, like in most FPS, your third-person avatar isn't aiming your weapon at the same exact point as your first-person reticle.
Not to mention your 3rd person polys can go into the environmental polys while in 1st it looks as though you're still aiming at the wall, not through it. No associated animation of an adjustment of your stance as you approach an obstruction, but most suspend disbelief enough to enjoy the game in and out of the campaign. Same with the ladders.

No reason it can't be pulled off, though, if they took the time.

But I don't know if anything like what you're talking about could have been added into ODST (way too late now), though I think It looks great in the Crysis Warhead clip Master Chief posted.
Would look even better hauling an unsteady two handed weapon up with your right hand, clawing upwards to victory with the other, with a limited aiming ability or something (ladder no-scope FTW). If Reach is an FPS (it'll certainly be a shooter regardless) they would do well to take his advice. If Halo had been designed for the 360 from the start, they might have done this, but it felt okay for the other 2 campaigns on the Xbox so why the need to change the gameplay drastically in the 3rd, or for ODST?

What animation?

It's only a video game.

Moving on.
