Obey your Master, MASTER!!!!!!!

judging by the artwork of the books the armor was based of chiefs armor in halo 1. The spartans in Halo wars were different. The armor does not really matter on which spartan it is.

It would be weird if the game will follow what have been told already in The Fall of Reach and First Strike, I think it's better for Halo: Reach to follow a side of the story that haven't been told in the books.

This is exactly what will most likely happen. The trailer emphasizes these characters, hinting that we'll be playing as them.

Oh, and regarding a second cwave of Spartan II spartans-Joseph Staten has said that canon established before can be changed. Using his example, little things like Johnson being immune to The Flood could be changed. You never know-they could ignore the item that there was never a second Spartan II wave of spartans. I'm not saying that Bungie will do this, but there is a possibility.

This was taken from the thread "Guide to Canon in the Halo Universe" in the Bungie Universe Forum:

Halo Story Page: Would the books make the cut?

Joseph Staten:The books are, for better or worse, part of the canon. In the future we may choose to revise or flat-out ignore some of the less appealing ideas (Johnson's biological immunity to the Flood, for example), but folks should treat them as defining elements of the Halo universe.

Proof. Scroll to the second post.

Canon established from the games take priority over canon established in other pieces of media, such as the books. Just throwing the possibility out there.

Oh, and good thread MLG Cheehwawa.

Well in Halo: The Fall of Reach, when the Chief gets his Mk V on Reach, he describes it as being completely identical to his old armor, except with a crisper paint finish and a slightly larger "backpack" (since this one contained a shield generator), so the Halo Wars armor and the Grey Team armor were permutations. And on the cover of Ghosts of Onyx, you can spot Kelly as the Spartan wearing Mk V armor, and she's not diminutive like the Spartan in the banner. She looks like the Chief in Halo 1.

This apple is brown, and rotten. This orange on the other hand, is in relatively average shape. So the orange is definitely the preferable option.
----------You can't compare apples and oranges. You're so dumb.

I posted a thread some what related to this in the morning. The thread unfortunetely died before it gained steam.

These are new Spartan IIs. A new generation, previously unheard of.

From Halo wiki.

It is also stated in Fall of Reach that there are 25 Spartans present during the Battle of Reach[5], however later it states that there are 30 Spartans present[6]. This number is maintained in Halo: First Strike.[7]

The most current count of Spartans comes from Halo Wars timeline that states that 25 of the 28 remaining Spartans were present at Reach. The remaining three Spartans are generally assumed to be Grey Team, whose status at that time is still unknown. This information also confirms that since the Augmentation of the Spartans five had since gone missing or had died. Samuel, Kurt, Randall, and Sheila are part of this count, with the final Spartan likely the one "too wounded to continue active duty".

Bungie, along with Eric S. Trautmann, have said that these discrepancies only seem to be errors and that everything will be made clear in time.

Don't be distracted by the bottom of the first paragraph. Its saying initially there were 33 Spartan IIs, but by the time Reach fell there were only 28. Which means five died before Reach.

The parts thats important, is the discrepancy about the number of Spartan IIs.

Once in Reach, and in Halo Wars it states 25 Spartan IIs fought on Reach. But once in Reach, and once in First Strike it states 30 Spartan IIs fought on Reach. I don't know about the quote from FoR, but I know Halo wars states 25 of the original Spartan IIs were on Reach. But even more odd, that only 28 Spartan IIs were alive before Reach fell. Which makes claims in FoR and FS that there were 30 Spartan IIs at Reach, particularly odd.

There are five Spartans in the banner at the top. These five Spartans, and the five additional Spartans mentioned once in FS, and FoR, but not earlier in FoR, or Halo Wars are likely the same.

Beyond that, 150 children were potential canidates for the original Spartan II project. Every Spartan thus far has had a call sign below 150. I see no reason why two Spartan IIs, in the exact same teaser trailer would suddenly, and unexplainably defy what has previously been a rigid rule.

Finally, I believe there was something small hidden in Ghosts of Onyx. A hint, that the Spartan II project gets revived.

If you add up the unused canidates from the first two companies of Spartan IIIs, you get a total of 315 unused canidates. If you add 315, to 150 , you get 465. That means the highest Spartan II call sign would then be 465.

Nicole call sign, was 458.

465 - 458 = 7

I think, the Spartan II project did regain steam, likely right after Alpha company died , after just a year of service. Recycling unused, but perfectly adequte candidates from Alpha and Beta company.

Edit: In FoR, Hasely remarks that all remaining Spartans are at Reach attending the mission briefing. Exept for three too far away too be called in. She remarks two dozen Spartans are present.

Eaxctly, much more room for story that way. Do you think that they are members of the Spartan-IIs from the Haloverse, or the Class II Spartan-IIs from ILoveBees?
