Yes and its one of the best novels (for me) it talks about Gray Team, but they then again dissapear in 2535( i think thats the year of the book) and they are never heard of except in The Fall of Reach where Dct . Hasley brefs them about their mission to capture a Prophet, she says that ''here are all surviving Spartans, execept 3 that are in fields of combat to far to be easily recalled'' she mean Gray Team (supposibly). So nobody knows about their whereabouts.

Is grey team the same team that were with dr. hasley in Ghosts of onyx? If yes, do you think at the end H3, when the planet appears, could that be onxy? i highly doubt its Reach because the convenant glassed the planet and there would be no point walking around a glassed planet. Also, what if bungie made a game, where the forerunners came back? do the forerunners have a darker secret? i dont know...iv got a stupid imagination..

This apple is brown, and rotten. This orange on the other hand, is in relatively average shape. So the orange is definitely the preferable option.

Completely off topic, but does she say how many Spartans are at the meeting, in that exact circumstance?

I hunt for the Prophet of Contentment, the San 'Shyumm that murdered my son, and stole his birthright, his Energy Sword. They call our species Heretics. They claim to all that our tongues sting, our words a vile poison that feeds on the unworthy. I have seen the true face of Heresy. The head of a gallant warrior lay on the ground. His neck scorched and blistered, scarred by his own blade. I shall retrieve the weapon, and drive it through that bastard's heart! Punishment for his sins is nigh.

It could also reference the Spartans of Red Team that were lost in space with the Spirit of Fire, though by then they may have been considered MIA.

Signatures are for squares.

There was 24 spartans present at that meeting, Halsey said there was "Two dozen spartans" present at Reach at the time before the invasion.

Thats odd. From what I read on Halo.wiki, there were 30 Spartans in the battle for Reach. Both later in FoR in Chapter 29, Page 276 and First Strike Chapter 1 Page 7 . Can you confirm?

As a side note, Halo Wars states 25 out of the 28 original, remaining Spartan IIs, came to Reach to be briefed.

So theres a Spartan that came to Reach to be briefed, that wasn't at the briefing( unless two dozen was rounding down). That Hasely ignores. And there are five Spartans that fight in the BoR, that weren't at the briefing, but also couldn't be of the original 33 Spartan IIs. Because based upon we know, putting Halo Wars timeline aside, only 28 Spartans could be alive by the time Reach falls. Are these five Spartans the ones in the banner?

At the beginning of the novel there is a line that says in Fred 104's Pelican "twenty-seven Spartans braced themselves", however in Halo: The Fall of Reach it is stated on page 240 that there were at Reach "two dozen Spartans" and Master Chief, with 3 other Spartans "engaged on fields of combat too distant to be easily recalled" therefore the pelican that Fred 104 takes to the surface should only have 22 Spartans since John 117 takes two Spartans with him in a separate Pelican for the space op. Eric Trautmann has implies that the discrepancy is being considered part of continuity and a potential future story hook

  • 07.23.2009 8:08 PM PDT

Don't get cocky now!

to the OP the 3 spartans were Jai, Mike, and Adriana... aka grey team. We dont know what happened to them after the Cole Protocol... they were probably re-assigned to some other distant mission behind enemy lines as they usually are.

  • 07.23.2009 8:39 PM PDT

The book they are mentioned first in is Fall of Reach. They were "too far away to be easily recalled" and "presumed to be MIA". Anyway, they were Grey Team. Kind of like a Special Ops Special Ops. In The Cole Protocol, they mess with a bunch of Covenant and Rebels, and Jai? fights the Arbiter, but before he was the Arbiter. In a huge disappointment, the book does not actually tell where they are during the Fall of Reach, but supposedly they ain't dead yet. At the end of the Cole Protocol, they go on a Prowler on a new mission. Bungie should make a game about that.

919525486131742032515267END

Those 3 are Adrianna, Jai, and Mike. In Cole Protocol, they were always behind enemy lines.

In Fall of Reach:

Halsey - "In this room are all the remaining SPARTAN's, save 3, who are too far behind enemy lines to be recalled."
