There was one wave in a playthrough there where a squad of hunters and jump-pack brutes were up against us - one of the brutes flew around, got above me, and stuck me in the face killing me instantly, while the hunters ran around forcing my team into cover, where they died by the wraiths mortar.
Running slower than in Halo 3 doesn't help you escape wraith mortars. We lost with all of the hunters dead, but a couple of the brutes and one wraith left up.
To answer questions above, the hunters did appear golden in a certain light, but no elites. The pistol can build pretty massive recoil if you semi-auto fire it as fast as you can, so it's good to place your shots well, and the SMG still "walks" upwards. The two weapons are definitely keepers if you're sure you don't want to swap them out for other weapons. The SMG is great for killing jackals and eats brute shields quickly, and the pistol is pretty magnificent as a weapon, it really isquite well designed.
I couldn't really hear a lot of the ODST chatter because of the noise, but each character has their own dialogue, and phrases are appropriate. Lots of "boom headshot!" and beat down chatter going on. Brutes are particularily talkative, constantly telling their buddies what you're doing and how you're going to die...over and over again. I don't think there's a sniper rifle on security zone either.
