By the power of truth, I, while living, have conquered the universe.

You don't physically see him in the Rookie's drop sequence, though you can see In Amber Clad. Depending on how long the game runs for we may get a glimpse...

From what I heard ODST will start from the slipspace of the Prophet of Regret to Sierra 117

Maybe being the keyword here.
Maybe we'll get to see the Chief at the end of the game, like in the Halo: Landfall video...?

That's two weeks there, pal. Much too long.

I think we won`t see him but we will hear about him, like once you`ve completed the game, there`s a video after the credits and it shows the rookie being told by someone he has a new mission, he ask`s wat it is and the man/women says "to retrieve spartan 117" the screen goes black. thats wat i want anyway.

Yeah, exactly. The Rookie's sequences comprise what's happening the night after the New Mombasa Slipspace Event, and the rest of the ODSTs during the day immediately following the NMSE. Unless the rookie goes on for another couple weeks solo or with the rest of his reunited team, which isn't likely, that's just impossible. No Master Chief this time around. Maybe a passing mention of his exploits, in the intro sequences or with UNSC already on the ground when the Chief did drop in the first time, with In Amber Clad.

Bungie's been pretty clear- the Rookie's sequences take place during the night, the rest of his ODST pals' during the day. The conclusion to their story probably comes with the dawn, pardon the melodrama. The time frame's just too short, which is one of the reasons everyone's curious about the story- how's Bungie going to keep it compelling within those limitations?

The less/not fanatical mags and media outlets covering the game would ask an obviously uninformed question like that, though, especially considering misinformation is never bad for the buzzing of the rumor mills: "Oh, I get it, it's a game that's a spin-off of Halo that takes place during Halo but doesn't have The Chief. Uh, does he like, make a cameo?"

That was the worst throw ever, of all time. -Red vs. Blue

Does it really matter if he is in the game or not?
