Bungie does not set the price, or have any control for that matter. MS has full power, and there's nothing they can do, since MS owns the game, and is the publisher. The publisher decides all matters of the game. If they say "Jump", the developer says "How high, at what angle, where, when, how long should we stay in the air, and for how long do we do all of this?". MS decides what goes in and not, the advertising, the date it comes out, the price, the cover art, the manual, the CD art, the back of the box, where it's sold, what comes with it, if it has any other editions, what those additions cost, what comes with them, and the content of the game, among other things. Bungie has no control. I fully support the price still, but I would like to say that Bungie has no control over Halo. They do not own it and they are not publishing the game.

Yes, in modern video games the publisher calls the shots. It's a lot like the movie industry, where the studios call the shots.

Does that mean whatever they decide is fine? No. But, you can't blame bungie for anything to do with pricing or the game release, that is true.

Well, we have different opinions on the price, but that's not what this thread is about. This is the facts. I wish more people would read them.

Bam! Said the lady.

While i agree M$ is behind the pricing thats all there behind the boxart and everything else is devolped at the respected studio, also £59.99 is a very fair price for ODST Limited edition you get a campaign and a multiplayer (just not a competertive multiplayer) people dont complain about bioshock, assassins creed, or any other single player game. heck look back a generation where yolu didnt have online multiplayer people didnt baw over game prices then. its the little kids who cant afford to buy there own games and have to ask mammy and daddy to who are crying over the price and there not old enough to be playing halo anyway

They decide the boxart.

Well no I didn't actually say what mine was. To be honest I think it the value for money varies depending on what halo stuff you have bought already. But yeah that's not the point.

It's a bit misleading to say things like "they decide the box art". They have the final say in things like that, yes, if they don't like it or whatever. But their involvement is minimal.

Get in the flask!

lol yeah you sure did punch all those un-knowledgable 12 year old kids in the face. im with you in the whole correcting people bit, kinda annoys me how most gamers are stupid (i didnt say all) like how they try to suggest abilities from other games like "ooo lets bring in the nail file from c.o.d", btw that was a rip on the knife because it is almost completly useless in c.o.d. and have you noticed how they relate FireFight to horde or N zombie... Come on hold-out games have been around for i dont know i think about 20 years now (eg space invaders, break out etc) ooo and last thing i also hate is idiot gamers who still havent realised IT'S A GAME !!! and they ask stupid questions like how can chief jump so high? or why does the punch kill enemies? its a game they break away from reality so you can do what ever you want well what ever the creators thought up...

but back on track good work on the post
