Uh...

Hello, there! Lovely to see you!
Sit down, have some sweets. They're on the table.
Lets get down to business.

So I noticed that there is a random weather, and random patrol generator in Halo 3:ODST.
What I was wondering, however, is not about that, but the fact that I may or may not have heard rumor of Halo 3:ODST being a 'sandbox' game, said being able to roam freely in a select area, similar to that of GTA IV, through the entirety of the campaign.

What I wanted to know was, is this true? Is Halo 3:ODST going to be a 'sandbox' game, and IF it is, are we going to be able to continue roaming New Mombosa after the campaign is completed?

Get in the flask!

dude for 1) get in a plane and fly away from the city in GTA IV ( you will know it when you get there hahahahaha) just pulling your leg when you fly away you just keep going, i left it on for 30 mins waiting to see the boundry but all it did was fly far far away haha ne ways yeah thats what i was thinken is there gonna be some secret areas out side of town or something because once you have explored it all ur gonna be like ooo theres that car again "i swear ive past it like a million times" and ooo theres that clue left there just like it was the last 7 times ive played this game.

yeah i also wanna know that 2) can you keep playing afterwards cos that would be good, i really hate starting new campaigns missing equipment and experience and what not (also refers to other games)

omg gtaIV sucks, dont bring its suckness to halo, halo should remainz halo

Good to know we still have rabid fan boys on these forums.
You seem to have misinterpreted me, when I mentioned GTA IV, I merely mentioned it as a representation of a sandbox- merely to give an example of the style of play I am questioning Halo 3:ODST as being.
Thank you for your kind words on Halo, however.

Actually dude, you had to take a left turn at that wave about 15 minutes west of Liberty City. That will take you to San Andreas.
And anyway, this is the sort of contribution I want to the thread. I want answers, not rabid fan boy quotes on how crappy GTA IV is.

My talents include always knowing the wrong thing to say.

Twitter!

It will be a sandbox game, in which the player roams around attempting to uncover what happened several hours before. It is highly unlikely that gameplay would continue after, because the only thing to do would be to kill brutes and grunts, etc, which is what firefight is for.

it would be funny if you could just clear out the entire city of covenant, and just have an empty city

(machinimators would have a heart attack from the potential)
