OP edited with article. Also, Reach most likely been in development since Halo 3 went gold so no, ODST technically wouldn't be the last Halo title from them.

I somehow doubt this.

I'd love to be a 10 year old and tell my mom I'm going on an adventure out into the world catching Pokemon, with her full support. Never mind the fact that there are rapists, criminals, and murders out there, or the fact that I may get killed by a Pokemon.

Luckily I have Pikachu.

I doubt it, there is always the possibility of Bungie going back to Halo.

I think they're gonna take a long break before they even think about going back to Halo. Until then we'll get awesome Halo Racing games. Yay!

They'll probably come back to Halo at some point in the future. When some new form of gaming technology rears its head for example. But probably not for a good while, seeing as they're apparently starting on a new video game. I can't wait to see what that might be!

All our dreams come true, if we have the courage to pursue them.
The friend in my adversity I shall always cherish most. I can better trust those who helped to relieve the gloom of my dark hours than those who are so ready to enjoy with me the sunshine of my prosperity.

Ok, but they still said the exact same thing about ODST, even if they were working on Reach for that long. Don't listen to it.

Yeah no, they said ODST was the last content for Halo 3 they were working on.

And if this is really the last game.... YOU BETTER NOT LEAVE MASTER CHIEF FLOATING IN -blam!- SPACE!!

New IP, that sounds good to me. Halo is great but they need to let it die with dignity. We don't need Halo Kart Racing, Battlefield: 2552, Call of Duty 8: Cyborg Warfare or Halo Party.

So we have ODST, Reach and the unnamed project to look forward to for Halo games then when have something new. That sounds good.

Character Artist -- Electronic Arts

Well, they are working on a new IP.
But they still have two teams. They could work on another Halo game to come out after the new game. The ODST team for sure will go onto the new IP. But that still gives the Reach Team a slightly less than 2 year Dev cycle to release a title.

Unless Bungie continues to hire awesome talent to support a 3 team production house.
Which would give each Team 2.5 years of Dev time. And thus a Bungie title every year.

ODST = 2009
Reach = 2010
New IP = 2011
Next Title from Reach team. = 2012
New IP Team = 2013

343 won't. I think a small team of Bungie will go over to 343 and work on Halo with them.

How can they make a Halo 4? The Covenant is gone.

It's possible that they can go back to the IP, but why would they? It would be smarter to release the new IP and make sales running off of the Halo IP's success.

No they are not, there are many other Brute fleets that just won't sit around and admit defeat. There are also other Prophets that could takeover aswell.

I hope Microsoft tears apart Halo after Reach, make bad games and such. Then right when people are about to give up, Bungie jumps in and shows how real Halo games should be.

I'm telling you guys, the Halo anime is Microsoft's first step at milking Halo. After Reach, I can't even imagine the terrible Halo interpretations there is going to be...

Everytime someone sacks my groceries, I think of Loaf.

bungie said Halo 3 would be the last, yet here we are with ODST and Reach......they dont mean what the say.

  • 07.24.2009 11:51 AM PDT

A hero need not speak when he is gone. The world will speak for him. Believe.

if this is the last, i have very mixed feelings.

on one hand bungie could keep making halo games for all eternity and i would buy every single one. halo has been one of my favorite games. dont fix something thats not broken,

on the other hand, i dont wont halo to become "milked" like mario. I didnt feel that halo was overused untill i saw the anime for it and halo waypoint. that makes it feel a little ridiculous.
