Are the skulls always on or can you turn them off?

The skulls aren't on at first. They automatically turn on as you progress through firefight. One skull every few waves.

Well, I'm not an employee, but as far as I know, if you play firefight., skulls will turn on automatically. Doing the covenant to do different things everytime they turn on.

If anyone can add more to this add it.

Can you choose which one's are on? For example, if you hate the Skull when you have to melee for your health to regenerate, can you turn it off, or does it always stay on?

Dream, for when the dreamers stop dreaming reality will go mute with color and all will fall into a silent blackness.

they have already confirmed the longer you play in firefight the harder it gets and each of the skulls begin to activate. I believe there were 4 skulls that are in firefight that make it harder as you make it up the levels.

Once they're turned on they stay on- kinda like Halo Wars... only you have no choice but to have them on.

Based on pictures I've seen of the Firefight Pre-Game Lobby, you can select certain sets of skulls that will turn on over time as you play.

The only reason why I asked for an employee or an insider is because I like hearing the stuff I want to know from the people who made it, not that fans don't know stuff. Catch my drift?
I guess that's okay, from what I see it's a mix of -blam!- Zombies and GOW Horde. You can choose what difficulties you want, and pick up stuff from the wall. Pretty cool.

Also not all the gold skulls turn on. Examples are the Iron Skull and Blackeye. They don't fit the game.

They know what there talking about. You probably just wanted the satisfaction of a Bungie employee posting in you thread.

That is why there are skulls you may hate the effect but it makes the game more challenging and the ability of it automatically coming on stops wusses from doing well in firefight!

I believe you start with the Tough Luck skull on.

1. The employees won't answer you, they aren't allowed to without being extremely vague, and partly sarcastic to be funny.
2. We know a lot more than you think. We're pretty involved with all the news.

i think u can skull at the start for extra bonus,
but i don't know if u can make it so,
that a skull u don't like doesn't show up.

By the power of truth, I, while living, have conquered the universe.

Perhaps not...

After listening to the delightful new music composed by Bungie's very own Marty, I took a look at the menu itself. Notice anything?

Skulls : 1 Secondary

This leads me to believe we'll have some control over the skull system. Don't hold your breath though.

Hey, the Employees made the game, so they know EXACTLY how it was done. Also, I'm not a fan-boy of Bungie.net trying to get an Employee to post something on my Forum Post. They know ALOT more about this game then most other people. I wanted the facts, not something made up. Sorry but you guys need to chill, so what if I wanted it straight from an Employee, why do you care?

And thank you for the people who are trying to help me, its deeply appreciated.

no that's partially not true the combos are random, tough luck is always the first though, eventually all of them will be on.

and it increases as time goes on.
at first their will always be 1 (the first is always tough luck then it's never the same)
then after a while 2 are always on (never the same)
then after a while 3 are always on (never the same)
then after a while 4 will always be on (never the same)
this repeats until all the skulls are on

the 1 secondary thing is referring to the silver skulls (IWHBYD, grunt birthday party, blind, and cowbell) those are the only choices you have all the others activate automatically (except fog cause that not in at all)

Perhaps. But maybe that's just how the initial game there is set. Maybe they've only selected 1 silver skull to be on and no gold, if it's possible...

im pretty sure what is said is confirmed, hold on i'll try to find a source

yep here it is
from here
If the party wants to tailor the experience even further, they can elect to enable some secondary skulls straight away. There are four familiar skulls to choose from at the outset: Blind, Cowbell, Grunt Birthday Party, and IWHBYD. These skulls do exactly what you expect them to. Blind removes the HUD elements, Cowbell increases the physics impulses, Grunt Birthday Party (cake is delicious) turns Grunt's heads into confetti when you pop 'em with a headshot, and IWHBYD lets you hear rare dialog much more often (You killed FlipYap!).

The circle is now complete.

The secondary tab is for the Silver skulls. They don't really effect the difficulty of gameplay.

Edit: Except for Blind. But I don't think they'd throw that in with the gold skulls. Seems a bit unfair.

Alright, cheers for that. So there's both my answer and the OP's answer then...

Respond to my post and not the flamer's:

1. We know a lot more than you think, we've been through the center of the media most of the time.
2. A Bungie employee is not allowed to answer you.
