Sandbox was freaking awesome but lacked many, many things that most of us would agree on. If they do include a Forge mode in Reach it should be up to date with what technology can really do. Far Cry 2 map editor was out there as an idea but we need more. Maybe an entire blank surface, able to choose landscapes of Grass, Ice, Snow, Water, Covenant Theme, UNSC Theme, you name it. Ability to insert or change backgrounds to a Beached Sunset or right next door to the planet Saturn if we choose. Inserting Trees and other structures would also be nice. It's kinda hard to make a good map based on what we want it to be if it looks like it was built in the Egyptian time era. Anybody get my drift? Don't make every map be able to be Forged but just give us the Ultimate Forge Map Editor where the map will look and and be how we make it. In H3 the only Forged maps that i do see played are either created on Foundry or Sandbox b/c those are the maps we can do the most with. Color alterations of objects and texture of the objects would be right up everyone's alley. Any one have any other ideas?

Yeah ive been thinking the same thing. I have trouble placeing the walls straight, I remember far cry for the original xbox and u could lock items and surfaces together it was so much easier. The halo forge sometimes aggravates me like a bill collector !

Ramped Death : 97% Complete, Awaiting Testing
Osteharcan : Accidentally Deleted, I hate myself...

This would be amazing. You would still Have the option to edit Pre made maps as you go into forge, but instead off a map you could have Expert Mode. This would have a terrain editor much alike to the Sims 2, where you can chose to raise lower terrain, add water, and in the Item menu there could be a Nature option, in which you can spawn trees and rocks of various sizes. The grid idea on Sandbox was brilliant, but there really should be an option in the start menu, or if you hold one of the movement sticks, to lock the held object to the grid. Then, there also should be an option to raise/lower the grid by Crate heights, so you can keep everything perfectly aligned no matter how high up you are. Also they need to still make the Geo merging glitches still possible in the new game, or we will lose the brilliant architecture and flowing race tracks we all love from Halo 3.

This would give birth to absolutely Epic maps that take are easier to make. Of course, you will get the occasional kid who completely floods a map with water, but think of the possibilities. If it is too late to add this sort of complex programming, release it later as downloadable content.

i think the ideal forge map would be an ongoing white canvas. the one by one or in a random order choose landscape and theme like you preposed. like lpb but bigger better and more mature with a blast of halo!
