Subject: Going Prone??

Wort wort wort!

Here is a thing I made: Linkage

Here is a Leet I made: Link BLARGH

I R SAY TEH HIS ASWELL

Do you think being able to go prone (Crawling) would be a good feature in Reach? Or would it just not be Halo enough?

Maybe it could improve accuracy, and it'd be harder to hit someone who is prone.

intresting idea... i like it

WELL, this is a good suggestion, but prone was never in Halo before, and adding it may just be tilting it away from what traditionally feels like Halo. I mean, getting up from prone in a big suit of armor dosent sound very reasonable anyways. Although if prone was added, I wouldnt mind, infact, I would like it.

all these things like going prone, and sprinting, and rolling make player feel like they are regular soilders, the reason halo is good is that you feel above all the other soilders

Spartans can do all of this and more.

Nah not a good idea in my mind i mean think about its too much like any other game plus u no all the camprs will do it i think crouch is good enough

You wouldnt have to worry about campers if it only allowed you to go prone in campaign.

No too slow for Halo.

"They let me pick... did I ever tell you that? Choose whichever Spartan I wanted. You know me. I did my research. Watched as you became the soldier we needed you to be. Like the others you were strong and swift and brave, a natural leader. But you had something they didn't. Something no one saw but me. Can you guess? Luck."

Yes, I agree 100%.

Spartans have been going prone through out the novels..
I don't see why they can't in the game.

Yes but whats in the books does not equal whats good for gameplay. Going prone would slow the game down way too much.

Teabagging was bad enough... I don't want 10 year olds going prone all over my ass.

That and it would make snipers so much harder to hit...

Prone? If you could figure out a way to make the movements flow well... maybe.
My initial response is to say no, might make the game move too slow. But I'll go with maybe.
It would have to be done right, and I don't even know what the right way is.

I would not mind it for Campaign, maybe have an actual fighting system coupled with a stealth system for people who want more realistic Spartans.

-blam!- the Free World!!!!

Interesting, I never really thought of that, but wouldn't that be a little CoD? The only places it would be effective is vast, outdoor maps where there is plenty of space and would only be used by snipers, unless there is a trench like map which would make it interesting. My main concern, however, is manuverability. The game would go real slow if everone was prone, and real slow if you couldn't move fast while prone. Remember, these are swift Spartans, not snails.

I dont very much think that spartans need to go prone.

They have:

Steady Aim
Keen Eyesight
Firearms Clutchness
Overall Bestiality

They would only need to go prone for stealth capabilities which I think a Spartan would just never need.

bestiality? isnt that illegal?

perhaps in custom games or social matchmaking.

I speak the truth, and truth speaks itself.
The lies disguise what you despise.
Run. Flee and be, what you've always dreamed.
What happens now won't matter later.
What you see will not be, nor what you imagine will not happen.
The end is close, so take your dose.

Here’s what Luke had to say about the differences in treatment between the Spartans and Elites in Reach:

“Instead of piece-by-piece customization like the Spartans, Elite customization is a full model swap with models selected from the various Elite classes appearing throughout the Campaign. There are all kinds of reasons for this, not the least of which is our continued emphasis on the Spartan as your identity in Reach.”

No. Crouching being more important? Sure.

But it is hard enough to root out some campers in trees, imagine if they could go prone in the grass.

Better yet, play a match of COD WaW on an island map. Not fun.

Every time I read something that I think is the stupidest thing ever and something can't replace it, something manages to replace it.

Dosent' really suit the gameplay, but good idea.

HELL NO, we have enough campers in Halo 3 crouching with shotguns, prone would just be heaven for them.
