Ninjabag the tea-pirates!

I don't want to join your group.

Another question. Would any class be able to pick up any weapons or only their class weapons?

I would say you can pick up other classes kits. Otherwise all balance is thrown out.

Why would having classes create balance issues?
It is the nature of classes. Each person could start with a different weapon and ability, which means there will always be some advantage that a certain person will have.

Look at COD for example.

CoD isn't really class based, there are no specific roles. See: Battlefield for actual class based gameplay.

Or Team Fortress 2.
Sorry, I was using COD as an example of how it only works with good weapon balance. Halo's weapons are horribly balanced, just horribly. I'm assuming Battlefield and other games have a similar balance of weapons to COD, since they are realistic shooters where you die quickly and no weapon has a clear range advantage.

Anyway, that was my point. You can have a class-based game as long as the balance is there; it isn't there for Halo, not even close. So, Bungie would need to make an enormous redesign of their weapons and game mechanics in order for it to provide an enjoyable experience.

Speaking of balance, I think I will go play some Cellfactor:PW now (which is somewhat class-based, btw).

Subject: Battlefield REACH

I only agree with the Weapons.

I want to play Halo Reach, not Halo 1943. Quick and simple; I find class based games to be unbalanced and therefore unfair which is what Halo strives to be. What is stopping an entire team from being a team that spawns with Gauss Rifles or Rocket Launchers then just camping in a base?

Also I find that there are a few to many vehicles, maybe only a few more than there are now. I mean how many Warthogs did you mention 5? I would really like to see a UNSC equivilant to the Ghost, and that's not the Goose. You also mentioned abondant amount of genades. That would be hell trying to "LB" through all of the grenades.

Oh and please, don't get me started on Sprint.

Twitter | Nothing

Not being nasty or anything but your whole post is kind of pointless. You are discussing how Halo: Reach should/could be a game similar to battlefield. But this thread isn't going to change anything, and Reach has been in development for a while.

But good job on the detail though. You're game sounds like it could be fun. But that isn't Reach.

Reach MMO. Here's to hoping.

And the people that believe "the hardcore playlists would be more popular if the rules were strictly MLG" can come off it, now. If you're not willing to support something close to your own setup, there's no reason for us to believe that cloning our own lists and stripping the variety down will attract more people. -- Shishka, Bungie.net

Anything is better than doing what they have always done.

Great ideas!

Cool thought, but I disagree.

Whats the incentive to me playing this? Why would I want a copy of Battlefield....when I can just play Battlefield?

Why not have its own original gameplay? Why does it have to be completely adopted from another?

It would not be completely copied. The gameplay from Halo (shields, running, melee, controls, etc.) would all be virtually identical to the classic trilogy, but with more depth (i.e. vehicle weak points, which do not exist in BF, but do exist in one case in Halo 2, all weapons being versatile like in H1, etc.), just in a scaled up environment with more players, classes, and more order when it comes to large matches (parties talk to eachother, party leaders can talk to other party leaders by pressing the Dpad, so not too many people are talking at once)

But all squad based games sucked. Very rarely will you be matched with a squad that actually follows orders. right, like the little 11 year old is going to do what ever you say over the internet.

A for effort, but

FAIL.

But it still resembles it.....a lot. Why not just take the BF aspect out of it? and still have large scale battles, bigger maps, capacity for more players etc .

Take out classes and such and keep in the Halo and take out the BF.

Thats just my opinion on this.

Go in with a squad, it would be just like Halo 2/3 in that sense.

All Retards are Retarded...

You Catch My Drift??????????

I read like 2% of it, but I can tell its an awesome idea. The only problem is I don't think they would have the Support(Watcher) carry a machete....& I think the biofoam idea is cool.

I am an avid reader and I couldn't stand reading all that. As soon as I realised you were inferring a class-based game I refused to play anymore.

It is the lack of classes that makes Halo what it is.

it doese'nt look nextgen , looks good but not nextgen
If by next-gen you mean crappy, dark and colorless, I agree. It doesnt look next-gen at all.

I've been playing Battlefield alot lately so i can see where you are going with this. The battles in that game are quite epic and even though im not much of a fan to the whole class based system its really good when it comes to strenths and weaknesses of each class. Fun idea i must say.

I would welcome big maps more players and vehicles (dropships) but the call-ins and classes I'm a little worried about. the squad based gameplay could be good but have some no vehicle close quarters map where you have to work together to win

other than that I give it two thumbs up!

I agree with the weapons, vehicles, etc., but i think would be most beneficial is an open system, or universe that you can explore, like Grand Theft Auto except on a larger scale, and the ability to make decisions that affect the outcome of the game like Mass Effect.

I don't want it to be like MAG. I want it to be like Halo 1/2/3, but large scale (larger, realistic maps, 22-32 players).

I also agree! Bungie should really mix things up a bit. why does everyone want to play halo3 so much when you can just do your multiplayer on Halo2? multiplayer I can sort of understand, but campaign would be a nice start and what do you have to lose? Does it really matter if you get killed by a grunt? If you even disagree with that offer you might as well be playing your wii.

ORBITAL STRIKEMAC Blast: a MAC blast is a precision orbital strike which can be applied to a spot on the map, or even locked on to an enemy vehicle (while in the overhead map for the call-in, hover over the enemy vehicle icon and tap the right trigger, the computer will do the rest). If hit by this, you will die, no matter what...What about a bubble sheild under it?
