They looked high quality. And scary. I'm going to take a picture of one and save it as my wallpaper when I get ODST.

I like that the HUD says Reinforcements, last enemy, and 2 enemies remaining.

We could do that as the Chief as well. Having a different Grenade arc, slower speed, lower jump and overall 'easy to kill' ratio makes it tougher.

I do not appreciate B.Net Group solicitation. If you ignore this and send me an invitation anyway, I will block communications with you.

I watched, and unless I'm mistaken, the only time a player dies quickly from fuel rod blast is when the player was already out of stamina, and was mid-air, being bombarded with a continuous blast of the cannon that most certainly didn't kill him upon contact.

We don't even know what difficulty these guys are playing on. I'm sure there is a difference, but I sincerely doubt it's going to be as big as everyone here is making it out to be.

If I am not wrong, the dude's stamina was full and his health was slight around half. If we look back at the Halo CE model of a Spartan, the closest comparison we can get to this ODST Health Model, When you had half health and full shields, you most certainly did not die upon being touched by a Assault Cannon's beam.

If I am not wrong again, they are playing on Normal. I doubt they put anything above the average difficulty level out for tradeshows and events.

Sure, we're really overhyping it. But, the videos do show how much more fragile these ODSTs really are, something that Bungie has hyped up on us and something we have yet to see in any way, shape or form till now.

:D

If I am not wrong, the dude's stamina was full and his health was slight around half.

At 0:40 in the first video, the bottom player has lost all of his stamina and his health was slightly lowered. He is hit by the projectile and his health is significantly reduced, but he does not die until he is hit a second time by the beam. The next time someone is hit with the cannon is in the next video at 0:15, where the lower player also has no stamina left, and his health is cut in half upon impact, but not killed as he quickly escapes the rest of the beam.

If this is on normal, then it is a big enough change for my taste, and I'll be all for it... but something tells me that they were playing on Heroic. I can't cite a source on that, but I could have sworn the details of the Firefight booths being explained, perhaps in a podcast.

From your first paragraph, those last few lines, already highlights the change between how the health models for both the Chief and the ODSTs have changed but you're right. Dude definitely has no stamina. Sorry bout that.

And, I don't believe they mentioned what difficulty they played anywhere. Though, I do recall a forum post of someone complaining they weren't letting people play above Normal.

I truly hope that is the case, as I definitely share everyone's sentiments if that is their power on only Normal.

I think what they said in the podcast was 'halo 3's heroic is equal to ODST's normal mode', or something along those lines.

Looks scary. damn, those things are actually pretty big...and fast...and powerful. If it takes them less then two seconds to kill you (if you stayed in the beam), which it looks like...man.

Yeah the stamina was low, but still Hunters will be a challenge and will probably kill you within two shots! Counting you'll probably have low stamina already judging by how difficult it looks...

I believe that was for the representative playthrough, where the difficulty hadn't been tuned yet.

I'm willing to up that one: It'll be better than CE's. And its not hype that's making me say this. I really think the ODST Team (Made up mostly of Halo CE Luminaries anyway) have something beautiful in their hands.

Lulz, Hunters were pushovers in CE, 2 and 3.

Is it just me or do the Brutes have energy shields?
