To all of those who still see ODST as an expansion and not worth full price, may I present you with this article. It seems to sum up what I see ODST as now. Very good explanation of things.

You know, I originally thought it'd be a nice add on to halo 3. Then at E3 I thought it'd be worth it, but to be honest, I was kind of disappointed about the price. But now recently, it just seems like being mad about the $60 is just complete misunderstanding.

Of course it's not an expansion.

It is Halo 3, - the Campaign, + A whole new, huge, better Campaign, + firefight, + maps...

That should cost more than what it is now.

I understand that, and it never looked like a typical expansion, but I think most people felt like it was just a quick spin-off game. Lots of people, maybe not on this forum but on say gamespot or neograf, don't realize lots of things-- even like the fact that it really is an open world type thing, granted not overly huge, but still (seemingly) big.

People saw the Halo 3 multiplayer content as a way for making up for this and the price. Truth is, it's more of an added gift so everyone can have the map packs.

* You know, this game really feels like a game of slight fanservice
-Halo 1 throwbacks--> health system, fall damage, jump height, single weapon
- Halo 2 throwbacks--> it's new mombasa! This is probably made, perhaps, because people really wanted to see the halo 2 e3 2003 demo come to fruition. And then you're fighting in similar locations such as the bridge.
- Halo 3--> more maps, probable cross over --> tsavo highway I believe is in it according to ign
- playing as an ODST which is what a good amount of people requested.

KAOS DEAMON:
A slight ‘’incident’’ has occurred in the forum. Me and Random have both been banned by myself. Which is annoying? Hopefully this is fixable? PLZ? Random is becoming angry.

If They just copied matchmaking it would be a new game

My troll sense is tingling.

Yeah, I have a feeling that the campaign would be far more critically acclaimed than Halo 3's campaign.

I think that the lack of versus multiplayer is the reason why some people don't view this as a full title.

I'm happy to pay $60 for ODST, but it is not a full game. I would call it a standalone expansion with Halo 3's multiplayer suite included with the package.

Think of it this way. If you already own Disc 2, you are simply paying for a 6-7 hour campaign and a new game mode, both of which run off the same engine as Halo 3.

I think the name alone is enough to support the fact that this is an expansion, but a large enough one to be worth the cash.
