You mentioned that many lesser-known games had more orderly lines, but maybe that's because they were lesser known? With a fan base like Halo's it would be impossible to get them all to calm down and get in a single file line, which would probably cut into many other lines for different booths. And the 6 consoles makes it all the more exclusive for those who got to play.

It really wasn't their fault. The location of their booth wasn't ideal. And there really wasn't any room to set up a queue for people as it was right in a main intersection amidst thousands of people. The people cutting in line was annoying, but easily avoidable if you were paying attention and not standing all googly-eyed at watching others play.

And there was only 2-4 Bungie employees in the booth at any given time usually. It wasn't Bungie's job nor responsibility to maintain the line/masses. It was XBOX's booth, so blame them if anything. Anyway, this thread is in poor taste, not to mention in the wrong forum.

Tell me, why did you come on the internet to complain about this?

I knwo it's not their job to organize a line, but I can't tell you how many people who were Comic Con employees or various booth owners who kept order throught the Convention center. It just bugged me that the people running the booth looked out at the mob and just sat there and did nothing.

That's pretty good for 2 hours of music without explosions and people yelling. I don't care if you steal it, but God does...

I generally not one of the "Blame Microsoft First" bunch, but it is really Microsoft's fault. Bungie is more focused on building Reach than giving out the demos of ODST. It's the Xbox booth, odds are Microsoft is the one who determined the numbers of consoles.

Also, people seem to think they are entitled to a playtest. I live in flyover country. Nothing is ever coming here. I know when I'm going to get to demo ODST: September 22. So I wait and read threads about people complaining because the line at Comic Con was long.

  • 07.25.2009 11:34 AM PDT

Like I said, it was mostly a result of the booth's position than anything else. Since you seem to have been there, you should know this. You know that there was no room to really set up any kind of line suitable for a hundred+ people in that busy intersection.

Again, why did you come to the internet to complain about this? Please just drop it.

And my army of brothers went over the hilltops, drenched in blood we may be.... but fighting is all left to me....together with my army of brothers...down we fall....darkness in all..through hell...

Cry me a river.
Wait until September 22nd like the rest of us.

I came on here to vent. How many thread have graced this site that really have no reason being here? So, if I want to complain, I will. I forgot that Halo was the breeding ground for narrow-minded douche-bags.

Just because you didn't get special privileges that most of rest of us couldn't get or you had to wait in line you're complaining?

Grow up.

Do people like blaming Bungie for things they can't control?

  • 07.25.2009 11:44 AM PDT

When did I say that I felt it was my right to get to play the demo? I just happened to luck out and be there when they were. I felt lucky enough that I got to see it first hand, and was upset that it was handled poorly. I would try and use a metaphor, but apparently everyone here is a prick.

No, they blame Microsoft for making Bungie do things that they can't control.

Why is lack of control the arguement here? How hard is it to say "Hey, single file people."?

If people were cutting in line why didn't you call them out on it?

I would have walked right up there and made it well known that some idiot was trying to be sneaky.

I did that exact same thing while standing in line for TOOL tickets a couple of years ago and it worked quite well.

I think they could've had more consoles yes. But appreciate what you get. Bungie weren't forced to go to Comic Con. And I won't ever even have the opportunity to play the game until it's released; no game events are held in the UK which Bungie attend.

So be grateful you got to play what others can only read about.
