Yeah, this sounds to me like you want to play CoD more often. And I believe they have just the game for you; Modern Warfare 2. You can pre-order the collector edition now at Game Stop. Anyway, I do understand what you're saying, but it just seems like a CoD fan wanting to play things his way rather than viewing it from an open prespective of the actual gaming mechanics introduced for Halo and its spin offs.
It's midnight right now so my response might not be very comprehensible, so please bear with me. And I have not ordered MW2, which I should because I doubt that it not sell out...But I have never bought anything more than just the game.
I do not want another CoD game. I want a Halo game that is different from the others. I play CoD, yes. But I also Play Halo 1, 2, 3, Lost Planet, GRAW2, etc.
Halo couldn't survive off a class based system. Personally, the class system would completely remove one of the most unique aspects of Halo's multiplayer. Beside that, and I do love me some CoD, just because they do it, doesn't mean everyone should jump on that boat.
I didn't suggest classes because of CoD. I suggest classes because allowing players to choose their preferred weapon at spawn just allows for more 'unique' encounters.
Halo is not that unique: Lost Planet, Quake, Doom, etc.
When I want to play CoD with its, more of an annoyance, class system, I'll put in WaW. But you really need to learn, games aren't all made to play the same, it would become a redundant bore. Halo is fast paced, frantic action. CoD isn't. And that's why classes work for it.
Sheesh, no wonder you don't like classes, you play WaW. Play CoD4. Much better.
Now, I understand Reach will be a new game, but it's being made by Bungie, who can make better shooters that IW, but I digress, fast paced, high octaine action is Bungie's mastery, not slow and historical, or super realistic.
That first sentence is debatable. It truly depends what type of game you want to play. If you want a fast paced game, play CoD4. If you want a slower paced game, play Halo.
Again, whenever I refer to CoD, I am talking about CoD4 and MW2, both of which were made by IW, not Treyarch
I think you should really think about both Halo and CoD, before you reach these types of conclusions, because then, you may just see why it won't actually work.
I have thought about, and by what I am reading, more than you have.
