You are awfully touchy about two completely separate, distinct games that you had no participation in creating. Nearly any gamer, casual or otherwise, would class CoD as slower paced than Halo. Because Halo's pace is fast, and it rarely lightens up. Did I say Campaign? I meant multiplayer, the vehicle distinction is much broader and more approachable than CoD, which would add to the effects of a class based, preset or otherwise, system into Halo.
I don't know who you play with, but I have logged thousands of games in Halo 3 and Halo 2, and I've never seen a slow paced fight for power weapons. Ever. And I've played CoD, where I can sometimes not even die because people don't even find me. Odd, but incredibly true.
Those kind of events just couldn't occur in Halo, and a class based system always seems to cause a more slower, calmer approach to battles, which just isn't in Halo's blood. There is never a slow time, you are always watching your back, or running for cover. CoD, because of class and the preset narrative it offers toward a slower approach, because you already know what you have, and you may never move, which is more camping than anything.
I've never seen CoD really dig in and offer fast paced gunning, because it just isn't there, and couldn't exist. This is where the Sci-Fi setting enters into the foray; energy shields allow for a fast paced run and gun, and less down time during battles, CoD doesn't have that, because it's not sci-fi. You seem to have completely glossed over my posts just so you could be allowed a rant in support of your favored franchise that you want in every game, or something of the such.
I still see no open prespective.
