The beta test is not held in private for the sake of some elite society so that they can play the game before you and laugh at you for your inability to be a part of their click. It's to work the bugs and other problems out of the game so that when you DO get to play it, the experience is the best it can be. However, if people are seeing things Bungie isn't ready for the public to see, this can put a bad mark on the image of the game, and give people a bad impression of it.
Before the beta tester that released those shots even saw a Halo 2 beta disc, he was made to sign a nondisclosure agreement, or NDA for short. An NDA basically is a legal contract that the person signs, pledging that they will not release information under penalty of law. They are made to sign these papers before getting their disc not to make sure YOU don't get anything, but to make sure that information about the game that may change over the course of development can be controlled, which helps preserve the reputation of both the game and the people making it.
It's NOT, in this case, then, too much for Bungie to expect people not to breach their NDA, and it's not too much of them to ask users on their forums to not spread any such breaches. If you don't like it, let me remind you who's running these servers. If you can't handle their decision, find another forum. It's that simple.
Further, if you want be an ass to people, I can help you out of the forum. The same goes for you, Predat0r.
