While I know Halo: Reach is still a year away, we can expect DLC in the form of maps. However, I feel Halo: Rech provides a new opportunity in expanding the Haloverse. Bunig is using Halo 3: ODST to tell a new story and Reach aims at telling a story fans have long wanted to play. Like I said, map DLC is fine, but why not add more meat to the campaign? Simply put, I suggest Campaign based DLC. Not DLC that continues after Reach's main story, but other tidbits of the Halo Universe. Here is what I had in mind.

Rebel Strike - Set in 2525, the Spartan squad Blue Team, which includes Master Chief, is sent to the asteroid Eridanus Secundus, a rebel outpost. Their objective is to capture the Rebel leader Colonel Robert Watts.

I imagine that this DLC would play out like one mission, striaght forward with having a clear objective. However, this would probably mark the first time you would fight actual humans outside of multiplayer. Perhaps even an online based VIP-like gameplay mode could come from this?

Operation TORPEDO - Set on July 3rd, 2545 on the moon Pegasi Delta. The DLC follows a Spartan III named Tom-B292 as he and the rest of Beta Company make their way to a Covanant refinery to eliminate it.

Fans of Halo: Ghost's of Oynx may recall this mission. Simply put, this would be translated from the book, but in a playable form. It would play as one mission, but it would end with a rather large bang.

The Way of Honor - Set in 2552, the Covanant launch an invasion of Japan seeking the Ark. It follows a retired UNSC soldier named Daichi Goro as he seeks to help a small liberation movement to defend his homeland.

Japan during the Covenant invasion has always been a big curiousity of mine and I feel it could be translated well after seeing how good Halo 3: ODST is shaping up. It would most likely have a similiar system as ODST, stamina based health system and health packs. Content wise, it would probably be broken down as half of a retail game due to the enormity of it all. Maybe this would mark the introduction of a playable Katana?

Parasite - Set on Alpha Halo, the first Halo discovered, a Covanant Elite fights his way to safety out of a Forerunner complex when the Flood are suddenly unleashed.

Think Johnson's escape from the Flood in The Halo Graphic Novel, but with an Elite. What I invision is multi-layed level that requires gunplay, melee action, and some descion making. A possible leaderboard for this mission could be a Time Trail. Can you make it out?

Containment - 343 Gulity Spark has a mission, control the FLood outbreak on Alpha Halo. Play as Guilty Spark and take control of an army of Setinals, Sentinal Majors, and the fabled Guardian Setinals as you attack the Flood before you meet Master Chief.

I figure that this may bring squad based controls to Halo. Now you can fail missions is you die as Spark. Sure you can hover around, but if you lose enough Setinals or their construction pods, you will die.

Pack Chief - Take control of a Brute Chieftain as you wage war against a UNSC base on a distant planet. Attack the humans directly or round up your pack and take them out. Order Banshee runs, Phantom drops, the orders are yours to issue.

Now I understand people aren't to fond of the Brutes, but I feel being a Chieftain is logical. You have tougher armor than other Brutes, heavy weapondry, and numerous Covenant units to control. Kill the humans again.

These are 6 ideas I have come up with as DLC for Halo: Reach. And I will say it yet again, I know Reach isn't out yet. This was something I wanted to write out and it never hurts to plan ahead. Tell me what you think and feel free to post your own ideas.
