"I have no words that would do justice to the atrocities you commit to the English language, as well as your continued assaults on the concepts of basic literacy and logical reasoning."
You would be incorrect if you assume we don't read it. The community team reads quite a lot of the posts here, myself included.
As for an answer to your question, that's very simple, really. Say we did release some info, say some single player screenshots, or a weapon listing, or some info on the multiplayer maps. And what would your response be? You would discuss, complain, because none of you would know the context of the decisions that we made and the vast majority of you think you're the best game designers in the world if only people gave you chance. And then, when we changed something, you'd demand to know why. Or maybe you work for a competitor of ours, and you're looking for some ideas. But you want to know the most important reason not to release more info?
Think about what is the first thing you would ask for after we release info? The first thing is always, without fail, a request for more. More what? More anything. One release is never enough. That means we're doing our job with getting the word out, but the fact of the matter is that nothing will satisfy most of you. So, we choose to control the info flow to our own advantage, and, I dare say, own whims - because no matter how much we release, it will never be enough. It wouldn't be long until everything is released, and no one would care about Halo 2 anymore.
What's the solution? Well, there isn't really a problem. We do what is best for Halo 2, and you will simply have to live with the weekly updates (which is vastly more than most companies will give you).
So, why don't you guys stop being chumps (you know who you are) and go back to the real fun bungie.net right now - talking about the possibilities. What you want to see, what this or that means, etc.

And uh, why are you apologizing to Bungie? Do you think they read this stuff? Seriously?! And if they did would they care if a fan wants more? No, they except that.
