I Have Gone through multiple Forums of people suggesting Editable Classes, Prone, Kill Cams, Camera Shaking, Perks and I have to say no to most of it. Halo is not Call of Duty. If you want Halo to have all these features go play make your own Game. Halo 3 doesn't have editable classes because editable classes make it less fair, sure it's cool to pick what guns and perks you want, but it just wouldn't be Halo.

To all those who picked option 3 GO AND PLAY CALL OF DUTY YOU ARE NOT WELCOME HERE!

Classes could have possibilities in Reach, but only if Preset and unchangeable.
MLG Cheewawa, I read your Battlefield: Reach review, and as I commented on that thread I would love to play a game like that. I would also love bigger maps, but with the lag that you get in Big Team with the Physics Engine coping with all the objects gravity has to be applied to, it would be very hard for the servers to cope with the bandwidth. Classes would have possibilities in Halo, but what I was trying to get at is that Halo is not Call of Duty

Edit: Why does every one care so much the title. Does it really matter whether it's called Halo: Future Warfare or Halo: Modern Warfare.

Classes would make Halo 1, 2, and 3 unfair because of the way the maps, vehicles, and weapons are designed. With larger scale more realistic maps, classes would be completely fair.

Custom classes like in the new COD games may be unfair, but if the classes are preset with limitations by bungie, they could be balanced well (i.e. Sniper class would be very weak and take lots of fall damage, Support class would be very strong but very slow with slow shield recharge rate, etc.)

I don't know why these people want to change Halo when they could just play a different game. Halo has unique game mechanics that are simple and fluid. That's what makes it Halo, and that's what makes it fun. We don't need all these gimmicks to complicate it and slow the gameplay down.

Although tbh, the classes idea isn't THAT bad. But I think it should be a gametype option, or a gametype itself.

Here's what I think it should be if halo had preset classes:

Assault - Primary AR, Secondary: None, Grenade Count: 5 Frag, Shields: Balanced decay and recharge rate.

Support - Primary SMG, Secondary: Rockets, Grenade Count: 2 Frag, Shields: Double Shields no recharge, normal shields 25% recharge.

Spec Ops - Primary *Silenced SMG, Secondary: *C4?Grenade Count 2 Frag 2 Plasma, No shields but runs and jumps faster and higher than the other classes.

Sniper - Primary : *High powered 20ml Sabre round BOLT ACTION sniper (instant kill), Secondary: Semi-auto (as fast as you can pull the trigger) 12 round magnum, Grenade Count: *Motion Sensors anyone?

Veteran(unlocked when you reach a mid rank) - Primary: BR. Secondary: SMG, Grenade count 1 Frag 1 Plasma 1 Incendiary Above average shielding with slower recharge rate 20%??

Defender - Primary: Shotgun, Secondary, Semi-auto 12r Magnum, Grenade Count 2 Frag + 2 *TRIP MINES anyone?

Juggernaut(unlocked at a high rank, maybe the highest) Primary- Beam Rifle, Secondary AR Grenade count none, ** 30-45 second active camo with a 120 sec recharge rate??

Rebel - Primary: Plasma Rifle, Secondary: Rockets, Grenade count 4 spike *ANTI-VEHICLE GRENADES? weak shields fast recharge runs a little faster

Vanguard - Primary: Energy Sword Secondary : *none (*has no footsteps) Grenade Count: 30-45 sec active camo. No shields

Militiaman(unlocked at a low rank) Primary - Carbine, Secondary magnum Grenade count 2 frag 2 plasma balance shields

That's all I can think of for now, but I know there is MANY more possibilities. There should also be where you can pick up weapons of your dead teammates and your enemies and use them until you're out of ammo or you die and upgrade weapons. (EX Upgrade Plasma rifles damage but increase the overheat time, or vice versa, increase rate of fire and decrease overheat time but decrease damage.)

Any more ideas, or comments on my thoughts please MSG me.

I would be fine with the ability to go prone, it would add a bit more of a stealth aspect but the last thing i want Bungie to do is add camera shaking to the game, i played WaW for like 2 or 3 hours on a Friday night when my friend lent me the game and after i had such a bad headache i had to take an aspirin and go to sleep.

Actually, alot of the lag comes from so much going on at once on the confined space of the maps for Halo but if the maps were much bigger like Cheehwawa talked about in his topic about the classes and stuff then it would probably not lag so much. The fact that there is so much more room for the same amount of stuff going on at once or slightly more then it would drop alot of lag.

THOUGH, not identical as Halo 1, 2, 3.
We want a different game, 4 times the SAME game? No thanks, I'll play Halo CE or Halo 2 anytime. We want something different yet not a CoD like game. Classes sucks, perks sucks. It can be fun, but not with Halo, the way you handle weapons and all is okay the way it is. They only need to change the gameplay, larger scale battles, maybe that PvP (or was it called that way) campaign. Anything except those kind of things. And keeping Halo Reach like all the other games would be dumb, evolution is good, but change might not, I'd rather have them taking the risk than have another disappointment because it would be yet another dumbed down version of the preceding game. Don't get me wrong, I loved all Halos, but I hold it as fact that the only way Reach can be better than at least Halo 3, it need to be different, otherwise we're in for a disappointment like we had for Halo 3.


And why the hell would we want classes of Spartans? There's no such thing, there's no spartan specializing in anything compared to real soldiers, spartans are super-soldiers. Just take the weapons you want.

i don't know if it is the last installment on xbox.com it talked about "HALO LEGENDS" it might but halo legends makes me think even deeper

Bigger maps mean, more Scenery, Vehicles and Weapons. Not to mention 10-16 extra players. Define "same amount of stuff" and "slightly". Slightly is 10-16 extra players I Guess.

If Halo was to stay as it is but with Bigger maps, Classes and 16+ players, and a lot of objects (e.g. Crates, Fusion Coils, Dead Bodies, Grenades) it would be chaotic lag. If bungie where to remove all that or severely reduce it to cope with 20-32 players it would lose many aspects off forge we see in Halo. Forge may be removed all together to make space for huge maps. There is a game called Frontlines: Fuel of War which copes with 32 player XBL, but this is because everything is hosted on it's servers. In Halo 3, Games are hosted remotely by players (often the Party Leader or player with best Connection) because Bungie can not afford to maintain such big servers.

In short, Bigger maps + More Scenery, Players and Vehicles = LAG
Solution = Big Expensive Servers

The Emphasis was on Bungie. After Reach, Bungie is letting go of the Halo series. 343 Studios (A department of Microsoft) is taking over Halo. All we can do is hope they put a competent guy in charge and don't ruin it.

I can't tell wether or not you are with me or against me. And I have not read your thread and would have no chance at trying to find it. Classes could work, only if preset and where set along the lines of MLG Cheewawa's class list for Battlefield: Reach. What I meant was to put an end to Kill Cam's, Prone, Taking a breath when you use the sniper idea's I've noticed on the forums. Call of Duty is the ultra realistic series, Halo is science Fiction.

What do you mean by biased. It's the majority of people who agree with keeping Call of Duty and Halo separate
