There is a gigantic contrast between this Cole and the Cole in Insurrection, why?

Also, nice work!

It isn't a contrast of character, there is a contrast of perception of the character. In Insurrection, he is the protagonist's ally, in this story, he is the enemy. Wolvers is simply writing from their perspectives.

So Wolverfrog
How does it feel to be a Hot topic maker and what do you think of your greatest competition "The Conflict of Harvest"?

What would you say about the other less read competition
The Spartan Four Project: Book Two
Project: GUNGNIR
The UNSC Frigate BlueDwarf
and Sanghelios?

Last do you have any hints for future writers who may try to follow in your foot steps?

#1 This isn't a competition.

#2 If it was, Wolver doesn't have competition.

#3 Less read, that stung. In my defense, my first one was a hit. I think I just waited to long to release the second.

#4 lululululullululululululullululul

Well in my defense here

I just rephrased number one to make more seance and to add truth.

1. When ever it deals with the same genre and general basis most reviewers/Readers its called competition and normally the writers see it as that also.

2.thats insulting to me and you

3.I agree there dude and yours hasn't been out long anuf for me to actually say less read but I half to go by comments as I cant look at who looks at the thread.

4. hay we all start some were and help is always needed even once you become a big success

Guys, take it to PMs, or either of your stories, this is not the place.

  • 10.17.2010 2:36 PM PDT

lol

No, it's not a competition, I'm not so pretentious as to consider myself above anyone else (because there are countless writers far better than I) and for future reference number of replies is not always representative of story quality.

And may I please remind you that this thread is for discussion of True Sangheili and subjects related to it. It's not a staging ground for ego-trips.

I thought she would turn into a main character but she has yet to be mentioned at all after she was introduced

I can never stick to self-imposed restrictions.

Good because when you told me you weren't going to write for a month I wanted to swim over there and slap you.

lmao why

There are plenty of other good story's that could hold you down

Here are some suggestions
The Conflict of Harvest
Halo 3: Insurrection
The UNSC Frigate BlueDwarf

But this story truly is art so I cant blame you for having trouble waiting.

How ever it does have its flaws

Such being it removes new characters fast even if they had little impact mentioning would some times be best.
Like how Sorran or any other main character ever mentions Savara again even thou Sorran was clearly love struck by her.

I mean wouldn't you wonder what was happening to your girl while your pain is going on or even after you were saved.

Maybe she could be introduced as a ninja like warrior to save Zharn and Ahkrin.

You know she would be so heart struck about her love she would figure out where Zharn, go save him, and then ask him where Sorran is. After hearing the bad news she will slap Zharn silly and blow the ship up.

but the whole ninja girl elite would be interesting and new being that no one has even thought of it. (I have and was going to add it for chapter 6 in my story but any on can use it being if they give me some small form of credit)

Females do not fight in the Sangheili culture. Or at least they don't in my own private version of the canon. Everything we've seen supports this.

And I haven't forgotten Savara, although back when I introduced her character I now think in hindsight that I didn't flesh her out well enough, which makes things a little difficult. But I'll work something out. Remember that Sorran doesn't really know (or fully trust) Restraint or Hem well enough to talk to them about her, and has accepted that he probably won't ever see her or anyone from his past life again and it pains him to think about her.

I won't say any more lest I spoil the story.

Oh, and can you please stop posting links to other threads in peoples' fan fictions? I'm not trying to be harsh but it is a little rude. Self-promotion in other threads is also a little shameful.

sorry I just wanted to hand him some things to read while he waits

thats all

and Just because it hasn't been reported doesn't mean it hasn't happened.
Most likely a Female elite some how got there hands on some small armor (Working for a generous and wise prophet would be the best way) and some cloaking devise would easily make it so they could help in battle with out being seen much like the women from Japanese futal era.

  • 10.19.2010 3:47 PM PDT

Well as quaint as that idea is it really wouldn't fit into the main story arc of True Sangheili.

I under stand

it would probably mess something up

Female sangheili are housewives to put it bluntly, they are not warriors and they not expected to be anything else. That is one of the foundation rules of the haloverse, and to break it by turning her into a ninja would turn this into a b-rate action novel, akin to those where 1 person can single-handedly disassemble the entire CIA.

That is not Wolver's style, he prefers to dwarf the reader in an immense storyline, more mountainous and bumpy than Katie Price's chest.

I believe that not one species in the covenant deploy females into the field, its part of their culture not to have female warriors.
