Subject: [Novel] True Sangheili (Part 37 available!) ~ 6th March

Vengeance only leads to an ongoing cycle of hatred.

Wolverfrog, I'm not criticizing you. But, you really shouldn't waste your time writing fanfic when you can be writing a substantial novel that many people beyond the depths of b.net will enjoy. I'm not saying that your fanfics are bad. Far from it. They're great. But, you really should be spending your time writing something original. Being hooked on fanfic for too long will make it harder for you to write something original, anyway.

Thanks, but I'm doing fine. I regularly turn my hand to short stories, of which I've written a fair few. I barely consider True Sangheili fan fiction, in all honesty. Halo's just the foundation for the story; the plot, characters and virtually everything would work just as well in an original novel with the smallest bit of tweaking. I'm still in education and still learning; I've got years and years ahead of me, and right now my priorities are largely those of a sixteen year old finding direction in life amid all the distractions that come with this age, and not of a grounded man seeking fame, fortune and artistic praise in writing. When I'm ready, have the time and the motivation, I'll probably write something original; I have a trove of ideas sitting on my hard-drive, and they'll keep awhile longer.

I appreciate your sentiment, but don't presume to know me or tell me what to do. I am not 'hooked' on fan-fic, and were it not for the people who enjoy this story or the fact that I strive to see through to the end what I started, I would have moved on long ago. This is just a medium for improvement and quick expression. I haven't expressed actual interest in Halo's universe for a long time, no matter how hard I've tried to rekindle said interest.

I see this novel as a novel, and nothing else. It's fan fiction, but there's little fanaticism involved.

Next chapter's coming along despite all the revision and other goings on right now. I don't think the wait will be quite two months, but you never know with me.

I'm not sure whether I'll die from the sheer awesomeness of reading the story, or merely the mind-blowingly painful anticipation. I understand the burdens you might be facing though, so best of luck in all endeavours, and good writing vibes to you!

From the comments, I'm going to have to read this. But that's a lot of book to read off the internet. Thread saved :)

Is it okay if I print this off on word? I have a tough time concentrating on reading while on the computer. When I read fan-fic, it is difficult as I have to keep my low attention-span intact. Respond soon, I read a little and it looks great! I promise not to reproduce or anything, but if it's good, I have a friend who likes fan-fic... although that might take a bit of ink and paper... mabey one section at a time.

Nevermind, I was posting into Word, and by the time I had gotten 30 minutes in, and halfway done, it was 101 pages. I just pasted the chapter listing instead. I read some more, and I have to say, it is amazing!

“I didn't want to wake up. I was having a much better time asleep. And that's really sad. It was almost like a reverse nightmare, like when you wake up from a nightmare you're so relieved. I woke up into a nightmare.”

Hey OP, starting on the night of the 8th around 11 PM, I started reading your story, I read it every night since then and I finally caught up, your work is very commendable, I under stand you are just 16 as I, but your vocabulary is very large. I enjoy writing and using big words, but I can not even right an epic tale that you have.

What a sniper can kill within a 1000 ft radius? A lot...

There's a PDF book of Book 1, made by AssaultCommand, it's in the OP under the index.

Cheers, mate. It seems daunting but it's actually a lot easier than it looks; this started off with the vague premise of two Sangheili becoming brothers - then Ahkrin got involved, then I just had the three of them jaunting around for a while in the army, and then the idea to have Sorran wrapped up in conspiracy came and it just shot off in different directions from there.

The only real trouble is time; when I started this I was just 14 with no responsibilities or much at all to do. Now I'm almost 17 and it's the complete opposite. But it's definitely been an experience and I'd recommend anyone who wants to write do so, even if it's just a few words scribbled down. That's how I started. Nice to see all these new readers come out of the woodwork, nothing makes a writer happier than to know their work is being enjoyed.

Ignore this if you want, but many people are probably intrested in the humans and or Orpheus. If you could write the next part in the humans POV, or Orpheus's POV, I would thank you a lot.

It's True Sangheili. Orpheus is a regular character but I won't have him as a POV. Humans won't be a POV either, but... well, you'll just have to wait and see.

Then the Spartan Zharn killed was a different one?

Ah, meant to edit that post. I forgot for a moment he was dead, read over it all again the other day and kicked myself. Yeah, never mind that.

I will also be making the book for part 2.
My laptop is currently broken, but by the time Wolvers is done I should have saved up enough to buy a new computer :P

That's bad luck :(
Well, the first book is helpful. I hope you can get a new computer!
