"When life gives you lemons, don't make lemonade. Make life take the lemons back! Get mad! I don't want your damn lemons! What am I supposed to do with these? Demand to see life's manager! Make life rue the day it thought it could give EL1TE SUPR3MACY lemons! Do you know who I am? I'm the man who's gonna burn your house down! With the lemons! I'm gonna get my engineers to invent a combustible lemon that burns your house down!"

How is it any more realistic than Halo 3?

Been a long time Halo/Bungie fan, and always will be.

oh...yea...well still at this time it would take years to get to like mars!!!!

My problems [with Reach] are basically just full parties, mlg, and people who go out of their way not to get killed.

True. We can't even leave our own planet without spending billions of dollars right now, so the odds of us being able to cross the galaxy at our own choosing is... slim. At least in the near future.

And we can't deny that Humanity will probably destroy itself before we ever get the chance to obtain full space travel. Sad but true.

The thing is, it's only realistic in one sence, which is the fact that you are only human. It's a realistic player put in the world of non-realistic enemies. In that one interview ( I can't remember which one) the guy said it was amazing because you still feel the halo even though you arent the chief.

COD players who think halo sucks just don't like the fact that they have to shoot their enemies more than once to kill them BTW.

I like the idea of faster-than-light travel (Who doesn't), but it's also important to remember that Halo is a work of fiction. As far as I know, with our current knowledge, it's impossible to travel at the speed of light. Thus, this entire argument is pointless because it's just based off assumptions.

As for ODST being realistic, it isn't. That doesn't mean it won't be a fun game though.

Spartans are from Venus and Elites are from Uranus

Call of Duty is less realistic than Halo considering in that game there is no explanation for regenerating health. Halo 3: ODST isn't going to be realistic either and I really don't mind that.

Call of duty is nowhere near realistic, if it was realistic you would be shooting at people from several miles away, not at point blank range.

Miles away and point-blank both occur in modern warfare.

True enough, and it is a video game after all, but I am just irritated with people thinking that call of duty is the pinnacle of realism simply because you can shoot a person and they die in two shots.
Personally why I didn't enjoy Halo 3 online much, because with the default weapon it takes virtually 2 clips to kill them, which means people shoot 1 clip then melee attack. And the series could do with custom classes IMO.

I dunno, I think Bungie's new IP could be better.

Spartans are super soldiers trained from the age of six, injected with drugs and augamented to become the best. They then have performance enhancing armour which speeds up their reaction times and boasts energy shielding.

I don't see why playing as a Spartan is unrealistic then, when you take the above into account.

Their armor, energy shield, and the augmentations themselves are all currently WAY beyond our technology.

Oh yes, because in the next 500 years humanity won't progress at all.

/sarcasm

Call me a critic if you will, but I don't think we will ever be able to rip holes in the universe and travel across the galaxy in a matter of months.

That's because it's beyond the comprehension of your 21st century brain. Would people in the middle ages have thought that one day, the entire world would be able to communicate with each other by the internet?

I like Halo 3 better than any other shooting game(s).

I play both COD and Halo, and I like them both. I wouldn't say that one is better than the other.

Agreed, there both fun, have a good single player and multiplayer I would also add Battlefield to the list of great FPS with good single player and multiplayer

“Oh, it’s a little bit of everything, it’s the mountains, it’s the fog, it’s the news at six o’clock, it’s the death of my first dog, it’s the angels up above me, it’s the song that they don’t sing, It’s a little bit of everything.”
- Dawes, A little bit of everything

I like both Bungie and Treyarch....and both the Halo series and the Call of Duty series...They are undoubtedly different games, but it wouldn't be fun if they were the same, now would it?

Or will we?!!? Find out on the next episode of Halo, the series that just won't quit!!! Only on XBOX.

Oh and to the realism it will be similar to the health in Halo: CE

I agree with you, but the fact that we have stamina is too much like the spartan's shield, but beside that, it's going to be realist and AWESOME!!

I agree, this game is realistic. So is Call of Duty. And Team Fortress. And, you know what, Lego Star Wars is pretty realistic now I come to think of it.

Thanks for your time,

I would say halo just blows away the compition if you dont think the halo series is the least bit groovy i think you need to stop playing xbox for a while in till you come to your senses

  • 07.26.2009 5:30 PM PDT

Go Go Happy Time!

So are you saying it's more Realistic because you play as a regular human and not a Spartan? Every halo game is unrealistic. That's why it's called a -blam!- scifi game. I don't think if you got shot by a bullet once or twice you'll survive. And you can't live that long with no water or food.

Well i love the fact about the game that its more realistic than previous halo's....personally i dont care...dont get me wrong i do like shields but its just those -blam!- CoD lovers that are always saying "OMG halo has shields what a loser game"...SO WHAT GET OVER IT!!!!...i just wanted to say that...plus BUNGIE IS WAYY BETTER THAN TREYARCH!!!!!...so how do you feel about it being more realistic forgetting the fact that your fighting aliens..lol

Discuss:
I always have thought that the entire halo plot is very realistic (i.e. the aliens have a reason for genocide that could and has happened in real life) also the human technology is where I expect it to be at around that time...the sheilds could in themselves be more realistic because noone knows what might be invented in the future...I say aliens exist (and I'm quite vocal about it and the human reaction when we do eventually meet them...but I'll keep those details to myself).point being these are the reasons why I think halo is realistic but its just my opinion.

Critic.
And (this is a fact) technology is advancing 10x faster than it was 10 years ago, so imagine in 100 years ( not too mention in 500 years when Halo takes place) technology willl be advancing 100x faster than it is today.

Its just as non realistic/realistic as Halo 3.

Yeah. Full clips from an M4 into people and they live, thats so real!

  • 07.26.2009 5:49 PM PDT

The search bar is like a DMR.

Anyone can use it effectively if they try.
Smart people do use it effectively.
Idiots don't, then complain about how it doesn't work.
The only problem is that, the DMR is used in Reach, but the search bar isn't used in the Reach forum.

For the people complaining that Halo is unrealistic, play a Halo game (without friends) on Legendary. Preferably not Halo 3, cause it was a little easier than the first two, but any other Halo is pretty darn close to realism for being 500 years in the future.

I think it's actually 1/5th of a clip required before the following melee will kill. And don't get me started on custom classes...
