No, it's just a game:  3%

Well, it's nothing major, but that would suck:  5%

I know Halo: Reach hasn't been confirmed to be the last game in the Halo franchise, but face it, it probably will be the last installment. I will kind of miss it because I just started getting into the game and then Bungie and Microsoft announced they were probably going to end the Halo series. I also know that we have another year until Halo: Reach comes out, but I just wanted to know who would miss Halo and who wouldn't.

Well they did announce that they would drop halo but that was before they announced halo:odst and reach so i still think it is a maybe for them, however if i were them id think that i would have to end the series before it became another sonic, metal gear solid, mario etc. I am going to miss it and i really do HOPE that they dont drop it for those run on series still have a good game everynow and then

Yes, it will be sad to se it go, but I'd rather see the series go out with a bang and just die down rather then having the game series milked to having new, bland, and half thought out Halo games. Halo has to go out while it's on top, not spiral down and down until it ends in a big fireball of failiure from being milked too much.

Let Halo die with honor, and it will go down as one of the greatest gaming series in history.

I just don't understand why they would drop Halo after making so much money. I believe they made $330 million in the first week or month of the games release, which either way is still amazing.

After I beat Halo 3 when it was released I was depressed (figure of speech, not literally) that the Halo franchise was "over."

So yes, I will be.

They have to let t go out while it's on top. Besides, if Bungie makes new games, I'm sure people will play them, I know that I will.

QFT. That would enrage me.

Vancouver BC, Canada.

I don't think anyone is going to miss it because the games are going to be played for years and years to come.

"Halo" won't be forgotten.

That means yes.

I agree. Let it die with honor at Halo: Reach. But that mwans Bungie has to make Reach AMAZINg to satisfy all of the fans.

True that, but I think that it will be amazing, there hasn't been a Halo game that failed me yet, except for Halo Wars. That disappointed me. But I'm sure ODST and Reach will make amends the sins of that game.

hopefully halo games will be made till the end of time. lots of franchises last a pretty long time such as soul caliber, street fighter, call of duty, the elder scrolls series, gta, dead or alive, half life, need for speed, guitar hero (bad example), and splinter cell. why would they kill their baby

From CE onward we fell in love with the Halo Franchise for it's originality and in your face game play. To let a game this great go is a hard thing for any gamer. Reach will be the ultimate in FPS and I have no doubt that the game will blow us away!

Bungie will leave the franchise the way we loved and remembered it: as the best FPS ever made.

But don't leave it past Bungie to surprise us with a new installment far, far in the future. When next gen consoles come out and Bungie has had some time to play around with the endless possibilities, I wouldn't be shocked if they came out of nowhere with an announcement of the next Halo game to BLOW OUR MINDS!

Because it might get milked. Let it die while it's on top. Don't let it go the way of Sonic (now the games suck).

halo belongs to microsoft. if bungie quits making halo games, microsoft will get someone else to do it. id would rather have bungie doing it and the games sucking

Still, when Bungie does a new project, M$ will most likely support that game that will have people interested than going back and screwing up Halo. A game series has to end sometime, might as well let Halo go out while it's cool.

  • 07.26.2009 3:40 PM PDT

halo wont be forgotten for a while. i mean top 5 most sold game series are mario, sims, halo, gta, and pokemon. halo only had 3 games to sell while these other franchises had several.

btw if halo: reach is as good as i hope, it'll be played for years

I am the hand of fate!

I will miss Bungie working on it. Reach might be the last game in the series I buy no matter what. Halo was always a must buy... a non Bungie-Halo is a odd thing to look at. I know they won't screw it up only for the fact that they make sure every Halo is good enough to sell well, and hiring Frankie is a good sign that they intend to keep one of the best gaming franchises going.

  • 07.26.2009 3:50 PM PDT

Sadly microsoft still own the rights to Halo (I think), which means they'll most likely keep milking that cash cow.

Least we can all look forward to such classics as Halokart and Halo tennis though.

  • 07.26.2009 3:53 PM PDT

Series come and go. They can't make Halos forever, let them finish the project and hopefully start a new ambitious sci-fi universe for any type of game that will be a lot different, and maybe complementary in a sense to Halo. We will still have our Halo games so...

It is the soldier, not the reporter, Who has given us freedom of the press.
It is the soldier, not the poet, Who has given us freedom of speech.
It is the soldier, not the organizer, Who has given us the freedom to demonstrate.
It is the soldier, Who salutes the flag, Who serves beneath the flag,
And whose coffin is draped by the flag

Noooooooo

Say it ain't so!!!

eh it was good while it lasted, and yes it is sad to see the game franchise end, but there are already meany spin-off fanchises like the books and a planned anime series.
