Well, close to the time that ODST releases, there are sure to be leaks, spoilers, and worse. Thus, making these forums a place to come if your interested in ruining the story. At that point, you'll want to avoid them.
But how early will you leave to insure that you learn nothing about the story?

EDIT: I only ask because a week prior to Halo 3's launch, there were threads titled "JOHNSON/MIRANDA DIE!"

I have to admit, I peaked at the Vidmasters, but thats all. I'm leaving about a week early. I learned my lesson when Halo 3 launched....

It's really sad all the players have to leave the forums just to avoid leaks and the like.

It's like playing dead to get out of school, then opening your eyes so you can check if their buying it.
Always ruining your plan.

I Love Dutch Tulips

I just noticed on the pre-order ad to the right, that Johnson had a pretty big chest...
Or is that his Armour?

Afraid? Naw. Leaks don't get out about Halo that easily. All of them had been intentional or they were basically asking for it. So nothing of true consequence happens.

Like the leaked achievements. I mean, is there anything new except we know the the exact players available in Firefight? And is that really ruining anything?

In the days of old, there were legends of a land long lost to time. This land was known as Ranna'Mor. Ranna'Mor was said to contain in its borders 7 warriors. These warriors had once unleashed a veritable hell upon the ancient world, until they were locked away. My name is Toriad, and I am one of those warriors. Our return is approaching. Do not run away, do not cower in fear; take solace in your final days, for that is all we can do. -Legend of Ranna'Mor

I won't be avoiding the forums. If anything, I'll be going out of my way to find spoilers. I love learn as much as I can about something as it is about to come out. I find that, for me, it makes the final product that much more exciting.

I remember watching the final cutscene of Halo 3 a few days before the game was released. It made the game much more exciting as I waited in anticipation for that scene, and saw everything leading up to it.

i hate seeing lecks in the story of the game

  • 07.26.2009 9:59 PM PDT

-I was here

i dont care about most spoilers, as long as they dont ruin the final plot twists of the game. but, i am interested as to what happens in the begining so any leaks about the first few levels of the game wont bother me. but i will stay on the forums, ill just avoid any plot spoiler threads

I normally wouldn't care, but for the Halo series in particular (an extremely story driven series), it sucks seeing spoilers. Games like Left for Dead 2 and Unreal Tournament are less story driven and are fine if a spoiler gets leaked or something.

But don't you think that cutscene would've been more exciting if you had never seen it before? For me I like to play the game the way it's meant to be played. You don't skip to the end of a movie then go back and watch the rest do you?
