Than what will the sequel be? At the end of Halo3 we know that masterchief is alive. When MC and the Arbiter were on the carrier or whatever they were together then at the end of the scene the arbiter is seperated and with the commander on Earth. So we know that master chief is alive and for some reason had to leave arbiter behind, which leads me to believe that even though Bungie stated Reach would be the last game that like Halo 3 this is a lie. We also know that Reach is not a sequel yet at the end of Halo3 we know there is supposed to be a sequel. Sorry if you don't understand I was typing while I was thinking of this.

why are you looking at this?

halo 3 doesn't have to have a sequel. and bungie didn't say that halo 3 was the last halo game, they said it was the last halo game that was centered on the master chief (in short, no more master chief, but more halo story). and yes reach isnt a sequel, its a prequel to halo 1. also the master chief didn't leave the arbiter, the portal closed before the whole ship could get through.

Wayne Jarvis, Attorney at Law; I have a responsibility to tell you that there is no candy in this office.

Didn't really read your post, but it's possible that the Halo 3 ending was showing that the ship was going to get sucked into the planet's gravitational pull, and then crash, killing the Master Chief

There's no reason it couldn't have been a setup for 343's game. I'm sure they had their plot planned out on their game for some time and they were there before halo3 came out.

Incorrect, Halo Wars takes place 20 years before Halo:Reach, and no one has ever confirmed that it will specifically follow the Fall of Reach novel. Much of the groundside battles were actually explained in First Strike.

WRONG! The first book begins before 2531 and continues through and past it.

If you want to see the MC die, play Legendary. If you want to see MC finish the fight, play Halo 3. If you want to see MC finish the fight by dieing, why did you waste six years when you could have done it yourself right now?

They did NOT say Halo 3 is the end of the series. They said it's the end of the story arc. They can always start another arc. Look, Reach is the next logical step for Halo. Going back and all. Most people still think that MC is the only Spartan alive. I believe we are going to be following the rumored surviving Spartans of Reach. In a later game, after the story arc I believe MC is going to land at Reach, rendeveau with the Spartans, and go off on another quest to save the universe. Hopefully, it doesn't involve Flood.

They said specifically. The last game in the Master Chief story arc, for a while.

"I'm afraid of the man I'll become if I lay my life down for the people I don't even care for"

343 industries will handle this.

If Halo Reach is bungie's last halo title. Doesn't mean that its the last halo title. Whats the use then of the late establishment of 343 industries

This apple is brown, and rotten. This orange on the other hand, is in relatively average shape. So the orange is definitely the preferable option.
----------You can't compare apples and oranges. You're so dumb.

First, they were split up because Masterchief couldn't make it to the end of the ship, where the door was. And if the Arbiter didn't get out of the docking bay, before the ship left Halos atmosphere, he would of died fairly instantly. He would of sufficated, and his blood would of boiled. Not pleasant at all. As the ship entered the portal, it closed. Only half of the ship made it through. Chief was left behind.

As for the hole legendary ending. People assume its ment to elude to a future game. Thats not the way I see it. I doubt that was the intention, the original one anyways. I am pretty sure, it was supposed to be an open ended way, of bringing closure to the character. Death wouldn't of done his justice. And having him get back to Earth, where the only speculation that could exist, is what age he dies at wouldn't either.

So what happened to chief? Its supposed to be ironic. Through nine ages, the Covenant searched the galaxy for the Halo rings. Believing if they were to activate it, they would be propelled in a great journey. To the Forerunners final resting place. To join them, in godhood.

The Covenant however, had a largely deluded religion. The Prophets, as a primitive species came across Forerunner records. Likely onboard the Forerunner Dreadnought. They interperted its historical recording, with their primitive, superstitious mind sets. That interpertation, backed up by cold hard evidence, Forerunner technology. Created a dogma, that would come to dominate the Prophets society. Eventually, this dogma went over to dominate, the Covenant.

The records, spoke of how the Forerunners fired the Halo rings, to perserve biological diversity. How a few, were saved by fleeing to the Ark. And how what was left of the once great Forerunner civilization, went on a great journey, to find the precursors. To find somewhere to call home.

After nine ages, the Covenant suffered its greatest defeat, their leader killed. Then their greatest enemy, the demon, activated Alpha Halo. Drifted through space, in a long and great journey, his final destination, common with the Forerunners. No matter how hard Truth schemed, no matter how long the Covenant prepared, no matter how determined Gravemind was. John won.

Truth thought, even to the end, he would become a god. The Covenant, fought and planned, hoping they might become gods. Gravemind, thought of himself as god. But in the end, a single man overcame them all, and ate the fruit they long sought after. Because he had something they didn't...................He had luck.

Heh, close, but not quite. They said Halo 3 was the end of the story arc, meaning no more containing the flood, stopping the covenant from using the Halo rings, and no more fighting the covenant. That leaves plenty of room for Master Chief, and a Halo 4.

but the master chief never fought anybody else but the flood and the covenant. so there could be a halo 4, but the master chief wouldn't be in it (unless its is about his training as a spartan).

There may or may not be a sequal to Halo 3 some day. It could be made in many forms.

A game. Probably not made by Bungie, but some other MS studio.

A novel.

A movie.

A comic series.

A graphic novel.

That's not what the end of a story arc means.

I dont know about him getting sucked into anything. it does seem he is going in that direction. But lets say he did get pulled by gravity into the planet. I think he would survive.

In the "First Strike" Fred and his team fell from a drop ship moving at Moc* speeds and most of them lived. Master chief fell from space on a door at the beginning of Halo 3. If it did happen I think he could take it, especially while encased in a Cryotube.
