Guys,
Halo ODST is an expansion. Why? Because of its content. It does not add nor change enough to be called a new full game. It is on the high end of the expansion bar though.
Firstly, The game only features moderate additions. A new campaign which they have estated is shorter than Halo 3's campaign (which was also short by the way).
Secondly, the only really substantial addition is the firefight mode, let me repeat that, MODE. That does not mean entire multiplayer experience. It is one mode.
When you look at the difference between Halo:CE and Halo 2. And then look at the difference between Halo 3 and Halo ODST. You can't just ignore this argument.
And some small things they have added, as far as I know, all Ive seen in terms of unique ODST stuff is a new pistol and SMG, and the SMG is not even entirely new, how creative.
The ODST campaign has no replay value because it is short and will get boring fast. They are RE-SELLING you the Halo 3 multiplayer as if we did not have it yet in a second disc. With three new maps, big deal. It is an expansion.
1 New, Short Campaign but original
1 new firefight Multiplayer mode, very cool
3 new maps and 2 weapons
Does this constitute a full-fledged sequel and/or spin-off? Am I the only one who is skeptical? You are paying 60 bucks for a short campaign and a multiplayer mode, this game has no "meat". It was made to tide people over and keep them on xboxlive until Halo:reach comes out.
This is nothing personal with Bungie, frankly I think the price was pushed by microsoft. Does anyone else see this?
