*Begins set 4*

[Annoucer] Thunderstorm ON!

[Me] "Now what?"

[Flood] *Flood screaming noise.*

*Pureforms leap up and over the walls.*

[Me] "Run for the hills!"

This is taken directly from the 1/23/09 Bungie weekly update:

"We realize that the Elites are of a fan-favorite, so it's probably wise to set aside your compassion and steel yourself for what is about to come. There are no Elites to fight in Halo 3: ODST."

check it out for yourself here

Have things changed since January? I don't think so -- I lean towards believing that the author of the preview article screwed up when he said Elites were in Firefight.

But like three other authorsf from seperate websites have said Elites are in - Even OXM. And have things changed from January? Well, Firefight wasn't even imagined then, Bungie were talking about campaign.

Don't you find it kinda strange that he said things about BOTH Elites, and Brutes?

I don't think you can mess up like that. A Brute is WAY different than a Elite.

Firefight wasn't even imagined in January? 7 months ago? Dude, Bungie wanted to put Firefight into Halo 3, which came out nearly TWO years ago, but didn't have the time.

Also, could you post some links to these other sites that claim to have Elites in ODST?

For one, we all know this is the Halo 3 engine, and I don't know if its capable of letting Elites be our enimies in the game, but one thing is for sure, is that bungie has confirmed that the flood will NOT be in the game whatsoever because they haven't arrived on earth yet. I recall them saying the same about elites.

And answer this question. Who made that article? The press?

*facepalm*

Yes, facepalm, because you are obviously an idiot who thinks the flood and elites will be in ODST when they obviously are not. Answer the question.

Plus, you would have a better chance of elites in campaign than in firefight.

I do not think that the Flood will be in ODST or in Firefight. That is certain. However, the author of that article stated that he saw Elites appear in Firefight. That lead me to believe that Elites may appear in ODST. That is a valid point I have.

The facepalm related to your statement saying that the Halo3 engine how it is used in ODST cannot support Elites as enemies. Now, please tell me that you are either a 10 year old or a retard. They can implement anything they want. Enemy types, weapons, characters and the like have NOTHING to do with the engine. All of that can be substituted, deleted or added as one wishes.

Regarding your question, some author from that site wrote the article after seeing ODST at the presentation in London.

I agree with your point of seeing Elites in more likely in Campaign than in Firefight.

Covenant arrive through corridors on the left and right of the map, as well as dead ahead. It's not long before the place is flooded with Grunts, Elites, cloaked Elites, leaping Brutes, Brute Chieftains, the wasp-like Drones, the shielded Jackals and, of course, Hunters.

Where in that sentence do they say they saw Elites?

Can you honestly not see it?

Chill out dude, I am well aware of the link in the OP. Wolverfrog is claiming that other sites, in addition to the one in the OP, have stated that there are elites in ODST. Just wondering if he could provide links to these OTHER sites.

I lol'd.

I hope this is true. Elites in firefight would be awesome. Especially if they have those badass SpecOps elites you fight on the Autumn.

Again, he thought he was going to see them. But apparently I can't change peoples minds. And if they did see Elites, why haven't we seen them in any other firfight videos and the people who have played them hasn't said anything about it, till this dumb article?

Because the public has not played the map yet. Security Zone and Crater were the only playable ones at E3 and ComicCon.

For about ten minutes. That's about how long it takes to get to the second set.

Noone (Beside Bungie.) Have even seen the 5th or the 6th or even the 7th set.

Who knows what may happen!

people, people, Listen very carefully. Bungie NEVER said Elites would not appear in ODST. They strictly stated that "Brutes will still be the main enemy in ODST's campaign as it was in Halo 3. Elites have been pulled out of earth due the changing of the guard, therefore they will not appear in the story."

From the 1/23/09 Weekly Update:
"We realize that the Elites are of a fan-favorite, so it's probably wise to set aside your compassion and steel yourself for what is about to come. There are no Elites to fight in Halo 3: ODST."

One would think that when they say Halo 3: ODST, they also include the Firefight aspect as well.

It says it wont be long before they appear. Meaning, they thought they would see it, but they didn't.

Not quite. They say: "It's not long before the place is flooded with Grunts, Elites, cloaked Elites,[...]"

It's = IT IS, not IT WONT

That may seem a small difference but it changes completely how the sentence is to be understood. The author means that it will not take a long time until the map is flooded with the former named enemies including elites.

It may only be a matter of TIME until they appear, but they do, in fact, appear.

I'm pretty sure that the public was at ComicCon. Someone would have said something about fighting Elites.

It will be hard to get past the 4th set.
That's what the Vidmaster requires.

They also said that the game wouldn't cost $60
