Armor Lock isn't overpowered. You just suck at Reach :)

Reach isn't bad, you're just a BK :)

For my gamertag, look up "Ghoulishtie"

It's funny how people keep finding crap on the internet that says stuff about firefight, yet bungie themselves already told everyone that there wont be any elites/flood in ODST.

Check out the group, Planet Reach and talk about Bungie's next game without the annoyance of the public forum. Oh and it's nice there too.

You thought you had lag, it took Jesus 3 days to re-spawn.

But they really only said that Elites wouldn't be in ODST campaign. They gave a canonical reason as to why they wont be in campaign. The fact Johnson is in Firefight opens up the possibility of Elites there too.

Unless they explicitly said, "No Elites in Firefight", I'll assume it's a possibility.

Flood in Firefight? Allow me to display the situation.

ODST gets hit by ONE Infection Form.
All of a sudden, you have an angry zombie standing behind you. While you are trying to deal with everything else. You get assassinated. End of Story.

Your friend is not a reliable source of information

yeah, brutes were just a joke in halo 3, even while playing slaso difficulty, when I fought 1 on 1 against a brute, I would just laugh at its ridiculous attempts to backhand (or pimpslap) me. In halo 1 & 2 elites were actually a dangerous enemy,

Bungie said no Elites. But then again, before Reach was announced, they said no more Halo games. That turned out to be a loophole in their wording since they said there would be no more games revolving around Master Chief. Maybe there is some loophole here as well. Somebody pointed out they said that Elites would not be the main enemy. But that never said that ruled them entirely out.

For one, we all know this is the Halo 3 engine, and I don't know if its capable of letting Elites be our enimies in the game, but one thing is for sure, is that bungie has confirmed that the flood will NOT be in the game whatsoever because they haven't arrived on earth yet. I recall them saying the same about elites.

And answer this question. Who made that article? The press?
You know nothing about game engines. Be quiet, please.

Covenant arrive through corridors on the left and right of the map, as well as dead ahead. It's not long before the place is flooded with Grunts, Elites, cloaked Elites, leaping Brutes, Brute Chieftains, the wasp-like Drones, the shielded Jackals and, of course, Hunters.

Where in that sentence do they say they saw Elites?

flooded with Grunts, Elites, cloaked Elites, leaping Brutes

Elites, cloaked Elites

Elites

I hope that made it clear.

Again, he thought he was going to see them. But apparently I can't change peoples minds. And if they did see Elites, why haven't we seen them in any other firfight videos and the people who have played them hasn't said anything about it, till this dumb article?

When someone says that it's "not long before they arrive", it means that it didn't take long for them to show up after the battle started, idiot.

The only enemies are the Covenant that are seen in Halo 3 as enemies. There have been multiple pictures of Post Carnage Reports, and there are no elites in them.

  • 07.27.2009 10:02 PM PDT

If I recall correctly, Bungie told us there would be no Elites in Halo 3: ODST when we thought that the only thing Halo 3: ODST had was a campaign mode; they were saying that there would be no Elites in Halo 3: ODST, possibly referring to the portion of the game we knew existed.

Using that logic, however, is simply leverage; I'm only able to use it if I assume it is true. It makes sense only if I assume that Bungie wasn't being genuine in stating that Elites will not be in Halo 3: ODST.

But I just wanna believe Elites are enemies in Halo 3: ODST. If you guys don't mind, I'd like to stay in that little bubble until we're given official word.

  • 07.27.2009 10:21 PM PDT

Why does Bungie put us through such avid anticipation?

It's all lies.

Exactly.

I mean for starters it is already possible for Elites to be your enemy in Halo 3.

Asides that I will be very surprised if Elites are not in ODST (despite Bungie saying so). And I wouldn't be surprised if Flood turn up either. It makes sense to me to add as many enemy types as possible to Firefight.

  • 07.27.2009 10:53 PM PDT

Nolan is Nolan.

Bungie does as Bungie wishes. this is why elites may come, despiteit making sense, as well as the flood.

  • 07.27.2009 10:59 PM PDT

Guys, there's no reason there can't be flood in firefight. Each map is different. Remember, some covies get sent down in dropships, some have monster closets, etc. Some maps have wraiths, some have vehicles, etc. It's all different it seems.

Likewise, I don't see why they couldn't add flood in a marsh level type.

As for regards ot game engines, most people don't know what it means. Truly, it ranges. Some include water to be a part of it, etc. but really it's just essentially the thing that renders it. . And besides, it's not like you can't modify and engine.

Elites in Firefight? Possibly. Flood? Probably not. As much as I would love fighting the Flood again, I doubt they will be in ODST. I really do hope that Elites are in it though, I miss fighting enemies that are smart and tactical.

That's basically the same logic I used as to why it's possible. (in my post near the top of this page) It was never explicitly said that Elites were not in Firefight. The only explanation was for campaign.

*facepalm*

Yes, facepalm, because you are obviously an idiot who thinks the flood and elites will be in ODST when they obviously are not. Answer the question.

Plus, you would have a better chance of elites in campaign than in firefight.

I do not think that the Flood will be in ODST or in Firefight. That is certain. However, the author of that article stated that he saw Elites appear in Firefight. That lead me to believe that Elites may appear in ODST. That is a valid point I have.

The facepalm related to your statement saying that the Halo3 engine how it is used in ODST cannot support Elites as enemies. Now, please tell me that you are either a 10 year old or a retard. They can implement anything they want. Enemy types, weapons, characters and the like have NOTHING to do with the engine. All of that can be substituted, deleted or added as one wishes.

Regarding your question, some author from that site wrote the article after seeing ODST at the presentation in London.

I agree with your point of seeing Elites in more likely in Campaign than in Firefight.
The writer of this article is almost as misinformed as you, Rigtony.
