I probably wouldn't rule out the possibility of Elites being in Firefight? Why? Because Bungie got a lot of backlash when they said that Elites wouldn't be in the Campaign.

Firefight is non-canon, so what harm would there be in including them? None.

Making Elites as enemies has nothing to do with the game engine and everything to do with the AI Coding.

I'm not saying that there will be Elites, but I wouldn't rule it out either. We'll just have to wait and see.

The writer of this article is almost as misinformed as you, Rigtony.

Holy crap, your smart and elaborate argumentation completely threw me off. Good job!

Seriously, I know what Bungie said. I am just as good informed as I hope you are. They said no Elites in ODST. Just like they said no other Halo games, no remakes of Midship or Lockout,..etc.
Therefore I assumed that there might be some truth behind the statements of that special author.
Yes, he might have made a mistake, but that's not certain. There IS a possibility of Elites being in Firefight.

Go troll somewhere else.

It looks like no one read my previous post.

There have been MULTIPLE pictures of Post Game Carnage Reports. NONE OF THEM contain any pictures of elites, just BRUTES, JACKALS, HUNTERS, GRUNTS, and DRONES. HAVE A NICE DAY.

Actually, they haven't made anymore "Halo" games. They made an expansion to Halo 3, and another game on a different story. The remakes of Midship and Lockout were brought by popular demand, Bungie hadn't been planning that since Day 1 of Halo 3's creation.

1.Arkham Asylum, 2.Mass Effect, 3.Halo CE, 4.Mass Effect 2, 5.Halo 2, 6.Splinter Cell Double Agent, 7.Gears of War 2, 8.Medievil, 9.Oblivion, 10.Crash Team Racing

Bungie said Firefight is the ultimate and endless Halo battle.

Elites, Flood and Sentinels belong in it. They have covered over half of the Halo Trilogy with this new Covenant only inhabiting half of Halo 3.

In the Videogamer.com ODST preview, the author describes his experiences with the Firefight mode. Nice read, but more importantly, he confirmes ELITES as enemies in Firefight.

Covenant arrive through corridors on the left and right of the map, as well as dead ahead. It's not long before the place is flooded with Grunts, Elites, cloaked Elites, leaping Brutes, Brute Chieftains, the wasp-like Drones, the shielded Jackals and, of course, Hunters.

Sweet!

Towards the end he also points out that Bungie may have some surprise left when it comes to enemy types.

Although Bungie remained tight lipped on the possibility of new enemy types, and the Flood, turning up, we reckon Firefight, at later levels, will present some surprises.

This is just pure speculation but it does sound interesting indeed.

Full article
clearly the press meant brutes rather than elites because it doesn't mention cloaked brutes or normal brutes

But there are 2 empty spaces where elites could go, many people have speculated what might go in these empty spaces.

NOW YOU HAVE A NICE DAY.

I was in 5th grade. I popped in the Halo CE disc into the massive, clunky first generation Microsoft Xbox, and wrapped my small hands around the controller that was almost too big for me. Little did I know what I was getting into.

10+ years later, I still look up to my childhood hero, Master Chief, while everyone talks about He Man and Spongebob haha

If firefight includes every enemy from the Halo universe, then it will really make a lot of people happy.

It's non-canon, so why exclude the more unique and challenging enemies?

I doubt it, but I'm sure most people will be sick of fighting the loyalist covenant in Firefight.

Except there is no such thing as a final round, you play until you die.

Damn it you just ruined my day!!

Lol just kidding. I would like to see them as enemies again, regardless of how impossible they are to kill lol.

Sorry, I can't hear them over the sounds of Modern Warfare 3 on my Turtle Beaches.

Let's see.

The Halo 3 Engine has been upgraded for ODST. The Post Carnage Reports have TWO blank spaces. The fact Bungie misleads us many times.

Elites MAY BE in ODST's Firefight only.

Obviously, they wouldn't be in the Campaign as Regret has taken them to Delta Halo.

But the format of the Post Carnage Report is rather odd. Brutes are specialized by Minors, Captains, Chieftains, Jump Packs, and possibly Stalkers. Also, the SpecOps (Assault) Elites aren't in at ODST's time, so Brute Stalker and Combat Elite could easily and perfectly fill the last two spots on the Post Carnage Report, which may also indicate that either you fight specific enemies on certain maps or Bungie excluded the two from the public until ODST's release.

I speak the truth, and truth speaks itself.
The lies disguise what you despise.
Run. Flee and be, what you've always dreamed.
What happens now won't matter later.
What you see will not be, nor what you imagine will not happen.
The end is close, so take your dose.

Why later levels for flood? It's easier to kill than covenant!

I jus wanna throw in, mostly a response to those that keep saying "enemies in later levels."
Firefight doesn't have a finite number of levels, it goes on forever
The types of enemies you get in each wave is completely random. (Its totally possible to get chieftains and hunters and wraiths in the very first wave.)

I know that this is pretty common knowledge, so don't flame me for that, jus wanted to reiterate for those that dont seem to understand.

Bungie have already announced that Elites will not make an appearance in ODST, but I can't imagine a gaming magazine designed to give readers information on video games making stuff up. Either way, we'll find out soon enough.

In this article the author was just saying what he thinks will happen in the game, obviously he hasn't stayed tuned in to the bungie news and interviews.

Hey, bungie said Halo ODST would be the last game in the series made by them, and now we have Halo Reach. Also, about the fact that elites arent on Earth yet, it uses the same principle as Johnson, as firefight is probobaly not canon. Or to quote Bungie, "Its a -blam!- video game!"

Nice train of thought.

Could you please direct me to a Postgame Carnage Report of a Firefight? I only caught a glimpse of it in a video but I forgot where.

I've made my analysis of the Carnage Report here:

Did you read the analysis? Could be Brute Stalker, Bodyguard, Elite, or Kill Total. I'm taking the inclusion of Elites with a grain of salt.

I mean I remember last year waiting for Super Smash Bros. Brawl, where some rumors were true, such as the inclusion of Ness... I'll stop talking about Brawl, I'm just using it to support my thoughts.
