Writer for Hallowed Films.

The Halo: Reach story is based on the first book, Halo: The Fall of Reach. How do I know this? The image above depicts the main group of spartans that John-117 trained and went on missions with. From left to right the figures perfectly match the description of: Sam-034, Kelly-087, John-117, Fred-104, Linda-058. Of course there are more Spartans than that, but the names above are the core group.

It is mentioned in the book, that Admiral Cole took a fleet to take back Harvest. Sound familiar? That is because it is the root from which Halo Wars was created. The book left little description as to what happned in those years(2530-2531ish), so the game is it's own story. Halo: Reach however, starts around 2517 where you first meet Captain Keyes as a Lietenant and John-117 as a kid. The timline of the book is before, during, and after the story of Halo Wars.

No.

The trailer shows us the battle of Reach, and the tagline is "Falls" referring to a fall release in 2010, the fall of Red Team to the surface of Reach (in First Strike), and the fall (conquest) of Reach (not the novel entire).

Spartan-259 takes the focal point of the trailer, so it is probably him in the center of the banner. And since he could only have been a member of Team Beta or Team Delta, and Team Delta were all crippled and only 3-strong after 3 were trapped in CASTLE base, we will be playing through the as-of-yet untold perspective of Splinter Team BETA.

A planet called Reach will get blown up. Some Spartans are involved. That's probably about as confident anyone can get when predicting Reach's story.
