Yea thats what makes Reach so memorable becuz the Good guys actually lose this one there is no happy ending which most games dont do they always have the good guys come out on top and this is getting old in movies too except Lor of the Rings the good guys lost Frodo didnt live he just died and was dreaming about all that stuff if you read the book you wud know that, i honestly want to see the bad guys win and suprise me 4 once

Maybe we don't know all of what happens in between, they could be introducing a lot of parts of the battle nobody knows about yet, which would make it a brand new experience.
