Subject: The price tag- odst bigger project- etc.

You know, I don't get it. I think this forum is warming up to it, but why is it that, hell, certain websites themselves are so opposed to admitting that, as bungie said, ODST became a huger project than they had anticipated?

I don't get it. This isn't exactly uncommon, is it?
And seriously now, when they announced it at TGS it was due out for Spring 2009 (link). They took quite some extra time on the project.

So I don't get it, what's the problem with all these websites and professional sources not accepting it?

Drain bamage.

exactly, people don't realize that this game will be as long as, if not longer than Halo 3, and tho it doesn't have its own multiplayer, it comes with Halo 3's and has Firefight. Also, A GAME DOESN'T NEED MULTIPLAYER TO BE WORTH 60 DOLLARS.

^Well we paid for the 1st map pack, MM, and forge with H3

We're basically paying $60 for 3 new maps, firefight, and the campaign.

no, you aren't, you are paying $60 bucks for ODST, the rest is a free throw in.

I speak the truth, and truth speaks itself.
The lies disguise what you despise.
Run. Flee and be, what you've always dreamed.
What happens now won't matter later.
What you see will not be, nor what you imagine will not happen.
The end is close, so take your dose.

Really?
I see it as paying $60 for ODST, which has the main draw, the campaign, and then firefight.

And as a bonus they included halo 3 multiplayer for those who dont have the maps as well as 3 more

You, not we.

I don't have the Legendary, or Mythic maps, so this is going to be worth a lot more for me.

Assassin's Creed, anyone?

or Bioshock

Bioshock was about 8 hours long with no Coop or multiplayer, yet every one was like "OMG THIZ AER LIEK TEH GRATEST GAEM EVAR U HAZ TO BY IT, WORTH EVARE PENNEH" but ODST is confirmed to be around that length or longer, with 4 player Coop and Firefight mode, yet people don't think its worth $60, wtf?

Volenti Nil Difficile - To the Willing Nothing Is Difficult

I should just save all my previous posts on this subject. There are plenty of games that have much less content, i.e. just a short campaign, that are priced at $60. Everyone must have some sort of brain damage if they can't see that the price for ODST is justified

I think the main thing people go back on isn't the actual content, but bungie's statement about a year ago when the scope of the project was much less. I just don't get it. They say it's bigger and better and they include new suprises (like firefight) and spending over a half of year more working on it. why don't people trust them?

To compare Bioshock's single player campaign to ANY Halo campaign besides Halo: CE is silly.

And Bioshock was much longer than 8 hours.

IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF A GAME, ESPECIALLY WITHIN 8 MONTHS, A DEVELOPER DOESN'T DECIDE TO JUST ADD 4 HOURS TO A CAMPAIGN.

I did the math. It's worth no more than 45 dollars.

Wait, wait...When was the Game Informer interview done? If someone answers this for me, my mind might be changed.

i've wondered this myself but they are self centered, gready little whiners who throw a tantrum(?) when things don't go their way.

I don't remember when the interview was done but it was a while back. If you actualy sit and do the math it does come out to more than $60 because there are alot of games that have a shorter campaign and no extra content that sell for $60. You get, and this is not including everything everyone else already has, a new campaign(that's longer than what most people think it will be) firefight, and 3 new maps.

Its roughly $70 not including the reach beta plus the halo 3 mm and every map that has been made for the game.

My math is superior.

Could you just tell me if the interview was done before or after december, and if it was before, then how long before?
