Messin with the Squatch

I thought this game was supposed to be more realistic and it is in a lot of ways. But think about this if a freaking ODST can rip off a turret and walk around with it just as fast as a Spartan can, why can't the ODST hold one gun in one hand and one in the other just like a Spartan? They should just take off the ability to carry turrets if you can't dual wield or put the ability to dual wield back into the game. I know people are going to say because Bungie made it like that, but does anyone know why they did?

"I recken you don't come around these parts?"

one low Heavy gun would be easier to carry then two hugely oversized covanent and UNSC waepons

Turrets are very heavy but still able to be carried now. They're pretty much guaranteed to become lighter in the future.

And you can't dual-wield because Body Suits can't recognize two weapons - just like MJOLNIR Mark V.

Carrying one low heavy weapon would be a helluva lot easier than having two weapons which add up to be the same weight as the turret, yet you have to hold them at chest level.

But if Master Chief had to slow down to carry this heavy turret, I'm pretty sure an ODST should barely be able to lift the thing up.

Ownagee

If you get the game, and not being able to dual wield bothers you, then complain. Maybe you like it so just sit tight.

It doesn't really bother me. I'm just confused as to why you can't.

Somtimes i scare people... Am unpredictable...

You can rip off a turret and move just as fast as the cheif Holding it how does that make sence the cheif has super stregnth how can the odst move at the same speed WHERES THE RELISM.

NO GROUP INVITES!!!

Dual Wielding is actually a limitation of UNSC Neural Interface and HUD technology. Mjolnir Mark 6 can track two weapons at same time, Mark 4-5 cannot nor can ODST Body Suit.
And as for ODST ripping off and carrying turrets, swinging Gravity Hammers or carrying Brute Shot, they can simply explained as gameplay features rather than actualy canon stuff.

As for turret speed, it seems to me that ODSTs don't slow down at all while carrying turret (they're already slower) and because we're used to Halo 3 way of Spartans and Elites slowing down while carrying a support weapon, it seems like ODST carrying a turret is very fast. Sort of optical illusions, when you change from FPS to TPS and FOV changes.

I dunno what to say about myself.

they based it not off strength

but off gameplay

they must have thought that they wouldn't fit in with well in gameplay

also, maybe the turrets can break off on purpose

You can only rip off turrets in Firefight mode. Campaign is meant to be more realistic, and you cannot rip off turrets there. Firefight is just for fun, don't ever take realism into consideration in that mode, lmao.

Although its nice to justify gameplay decisions with Halo canon and lore it is simply a gameplay decision, nothing more.

I can understand what you mean when you say this but imagine shooting two guns at the same time with your left and right arm (NO POWER ARMOR HELPING) the kick back you would experience compared to two hands lugging a big ass turret. Sure it would get tiering after awhile but bungie isnt about to put how long you can run things like that (forget what its called in game) in the game. I can perfectly see why bungie is going to put rippable turrets in the game. My olny objection is the fact that in the description of the turret it says olny a Spartan can rip of a turret. But you could just be playing as a really tanked ODST.

They want to keep the Halo 3 feel to it, without taking too much things away.
They just felt dual wielding needing to come out, and turrets needed to stay.

And personally, I agree with them.

same, i dont know why people are still making a big deal out of that
