I almost don't care, I'm just looking foreward to fighting the best enemy in halo.


halo just hasn't been the same since I stopped fighting these guys


though along with everyone else, I found the HW cutscenes to be... nothing short of epic, and the elites defintely had a very menacing presence, I hope bungie capitalizes on the opportunity to make the most ferocious and intimidating enemy yet

Its a trap!!!

The single player experience should make them upright unless they are crouching behing cover. I like most of you miss the Halo 1 days were they looked awesome

in multiplayer slouch them. Unfortunatly its the best way to bring balance to these foot plus taller aliens

Big Team Battle Multiflag/Slayer on Standoff/Valhalla/Sandtrap/Avalanche = Win

Heres an idea, why don't we make the SPARTAN's taller?? It may make maps slightly different, but then we could throw in Halo CE Elites, and maybe Brutes as well, I think its worth the sacrifice of small doors.

In my opinion, I view that the slouching was solely so that they would be roughly equivalent in height. The hitbox issue was because the neck was registered as hitbox, so they took away the neck for balancing.

Plus, be honest. If you stood as tall as a Sangheili, wouldn't you slouch to make a smaller target?

In Halo 3 campaign when the elites actually stood up straight like the arbiter does sometimes with their animations they looked really intimidating. Its sad that they mostly slouch like tired old people.

I am aware of this, I am talking about in Campaign, being a different MP model shouldn't have a direct effect with how they look in the Single Player.

Am I the only one infuriated by the thought that bungie designs the elites based on what works best in multiplayer, then translates that to single player? The elites were more fun to fight when standing up right. Their animations just made them more interesting and intimidating when they had different posture.

If the posture thing is such a balance issue, make two different models. Make them stand upright in single player, CE style, then in multiplayer give us a bunch of half-retarded hunchbacks. I don't care. Just don't compromise the single player game for the less important multiplayer component

Of course they were, but I'm talking about all the time, not just second animation.

Just look at the Halo Combat Evolved Elites, now I'm not saying we need to directly port them from Combat Evolved, because we don't need that. I think it would be best giving the Elites a totally different look, make them darker and make them look like the have the incentive to rip out my entrails and cast them amongst their brothers, not just through in-game dialogue but through character design.

Who cares???

Halo 3's were retarded hunchbacked smily lizards. I completely agree on them having to be taller and prouder/more menacing.

I had some ideas about aesthetic improvements for elites and other enemies too, if you're intrested in reading them.
