Subject: Reach needs to be the end... Bungie.... To the lifeboats!

Uhh halo wars wasn't its sink, Halo Wars was for RTS'ers and apparently you're an FPS person, thats the reason it was horrible because you think different, I prefer FPS over RTS anyday BUT it's for the smart ones, not the shooters.
Exactly... If you start playing it expecting to start shooting no wonder you didnt like it. Because Halo Wars was a great game. And everyone else was just mad because someone tried something new people liked it you didnt so you put your like against it as saying its ruining everything this franchise is built to be...

Considering bungie didnt make Halo wars, who the hell cares..

you noobie fan boys wanted the mythic a couple weeks early
Haha! Such an exceedingly humorous remark, taking into consideration that I DIDN'T squander my currency on the Legendary addition. Furthermore, numerous populaces essentially esteemed the game. I acquired it for the reason that I like RTS games, as greatly as I like FPS games. Ensemble did an impressive job on the game, bearing in mind that it was on a gaming console, as a substitute for the PC. The cinematic trampled Halo 3's, considering that both were in development at comparable instances.

Although Ensemble Studios "closed their doors", I'm pleased to publicize this editorial on this thread:

"In a shocking announcement made late last night, Microsoft confirmed rumors that Age of Empires and Halo Wars developer Ensemble Studios will be shut down as soon as work on Halo Wars is completed. An astonishing decision Microsoft claims to be one that is "fiscally rooted". Wowzaz!

In Microsoft's official statement to the media, Ensemble Studios' closure is addressed, mentioning that after completion of Halo Wars, the "leadership team will form a new studio and has agreed to provide ongoing support for Halo Wars as well as work on other projects with Microsoft Game Studios." Microsoft also makes it clear that they'll "place as many Ensemble employees who do not move to the newly formed studio into open positions within Microsoft" and insists that the studio's closure has nothing to do with "Ensembles talent or the quality of Halo Wars."

What can be said? How random, how unexpected and how troubling it is to hear this news. News that we never would have seen coming. From our early experience with Halo Wars and the Age of Empires franchise, the level of talent the entire Ensemble crew possess is more than apparent as we wish them all the best with their future endeavors."

RED BRICK STUDIOS!

Yes, as soon as Bungie stops with Halo games Halo will go down the drain.
Sad, because that is two of my favorite series that I am losing interest in.
After Reach, I don't expect myself to buy another Halo title.
Modern Warfare ruined CoD for me. I was glad about WaW, but it doesn't match up to CoD 3.

"Won't look back chains that bound me" - Blue 42, Haste The Day

Bungie didn't make Halo Wars, and I sorta liked it. But if you go on IGN it states that Bungie told UK gameinformer that Reach was their last Halo game, 343 Industries will take over the halo reins when Reach is released.

  • 07.28.2009 7:30 AM PDT

Nice analogies, but I'm not apprehensive about 343 Industries creating Halo games. I mean, they've got Frankie and Mr. Vociferous.

Halo is in good hands. Be at peace. The Anime looks good, none of you are complaining about the Graphic Novels and Comics, all the anime will do is expand the Universe, it won't tarnish it.

LoL, precisely; Anime and Halo don't jumble. Halo: Legends is exclusively regarding that. No way am I procuring that chunk of -blam!-. I loathe Anime, and it'll just confound Halo, yet more.

I concur with that assertion. CoD: WaW was an enhancement from MW, and optimistically, MW2 ought to be an enhancement from WaW. Too bad that Treyarch, the corporation that was accountable for Shi No Numa in addition to the remainder of the -blam!- Zombie stages, has divorced the companionship with Infinity Ward. Corresponding circumstances are transpiring in the midst of Bungie and Mircosoft.

The Halo franchise started going downhill (in terms of gameplay and story only) in Halo 2 and 3. Hopefully REACH will be closer to the original in its gameplay formula and meaningful story.

*Facepalm* I DON'T wanna hear it Cheehwawa

Keep the Halo series going. There is so much that can still be done so that the theme does not seem repetitive. Just look at the books as proof of that. In all 3 Halo games there is a lot of time between each release. There are so many angles that Bungie could take with the storyline. Personally I like the idea of Reach, letting us see what lead up to Halo 1.

Snakie Purple.

"Hamdog, Hamdog, Hamdog, Hamdog"-Hamdog.

Twatter

Halo Wars is amazing, firstly.

Second, Bungie is done with Halo after Reach. I just hope Microsoft sees that the fans don't want more Halo (Unless Robot makes the sequel to Halo Wars).

I think it's time to close the series (after reach). And let it be remembered as a great series. Its should not become another Sonic.

Halo wars was a pretty fun game and plus when people think of halo, most don't even think of halo wars... Halo is bigger and more fun than ever. Why stop the deep story now when so many people are still excited about these games?

  • 07.28.2009 9:00 AM PDT

Don't even compare sonic to halo... please...

I submit myself to sorrow for existent hedgehogs. Sonic the -blam!-hog truly created a travesty for factual hedgehogs.

Sonic the -blam!-hog Betrays his Hedgehog Bretheren?!

Halo Wars was, is a great RTS, and revolutionised the genre for the Xbox. I still play it to this day, sure the campaign was lacking, but then that's never been Ensemble's forte. Hopefully with the sequel, if there is a sequel, they'll fix this.

Ninjabag the tea-pirates!

I don't want to join your group.

I've heard that bungie have said they're stopping after Reach anyway. I hope that means that they'll stay dedicated to Reach for longer and bring out lots of DLC.

This is a pointless retarded thread, Lars Bakken already stated numerous times that Halo: Reach was going to be their last Halo game and that their already working on a new IP. Microsoft has the Halo licence and they'll do what they want along with 343 Studios, Halo: Legends and Halo Wars are examples of Microsoft trying to get more people into the Halo's story(Not just casual fps players and Hardcore ones).

I'm saying that because many who bought it don't play it anymore. And it actually came out in February.

No actually im an avid fan of both...

I am an avid gamer who enjoyed both the Age of empires series as well as Command and Conquer.

I have a preference to FPS, but RTS is not something i loath.

(copy and paste if you're a Sox fan)

Good analogy, I agree with you for the most part. However just because Bungie is ending work on the Halo franchise, doesn't mean it's dead. 343 Industries, headed by Frankie O'Connor, will bring originality and revitilize the Halo franchise to it's former glory soon after Reach. Have faith.
