1) Host Advantage

Shotgun and Swords is completely broken due to this. If your team doesn't have the host, you will lose 90% of the time. I have been shot and killed with the shotgun from a good 70 feet away, while mine won't even cause damage. Why? Because being the host means you win.

2) Super Lunging

People on this game will lunge and hit me from around 15-20 feet away with any weapon. I can only do a standard lunge at best. It doesn't matter who I'm facing, they will always shoot me up a bit and then lunge 20 feet to kill me, even when they're crouching or jumping.

3) Snipe Swipe

Facing a sniper is pointless when they can snipe swipe. The fact that they can even do this is just horrible programming. If I'm running, all they have to do is swing their gun and fire, a good majority of the time they will hit me, even if I have taken cover behind a building or rock.

4) Super Bounces

These have killed numerous games for me. I have had a entire team super bounce on Turf with the Flag, which makes killing them impossible. Not only that, but they stayed up there and I was forced to quit because they were given an infinite amount of "sudden death" time. Super Bounces also ruin Zanzibar when the bouncer has the battle rifle or sniper rifle. It makes it near impossible to kill them since they just move to the back of the base so hitting them is impossible.

5) Unbalanced Teams

I can't even count the amount of times I have played team training to find the other team to be stacked with players over level 30 while my team was all under level 10. What should have been done is that once you hit level 20, you can only play ranked games. People over level 20 are just playing team training games to bully not-so-experienced players. There's also the problem when they let team based matches (flag and bomb) be a 4 vs. 3 affair. This may be fine when it's something like Team Slayer, Shotguns, Swords, etc., but it makes the game unfair because the team with 4 can easily send one to grab the flag or plant the bomb while the other 3 go out for killing. The team with 3 on the other hand gets screwed by having one less person and one less attacker.

6) Flag Capture Cheats

Picture this, you're playing capture the flag on Elongation and you're right on top of your flag so nobody can capture it without getting through you. Now, a guy across from you (where the ramp begins and at the bottom is the battle rifle) takes the flag right from underneath you. Same crape has happen to me when playing Capture The Flag on Turf. It makes guarding the actual flag/bomb spot pointless.

7) Grenades

I have no idea when this became the "go to" weapon for any cheater, but it is. For one, they seem to home onto me and my team. Yes, the actually home. How do I know? Simple, when a person is able to throw either grenades from anywhere on the map and have them ALWAYS either stick you or land at your feet, they are homing. Secondly, their explosion radius seems to vary. If I throw any grenade, it explodes its expected amount. If somebody throws it against me and my team, they explode big enough to hurt me. I have had grenades explode from 15 feet away, through a giant boulder, and almost kill me. Third, the fuse is variable. Mine will explode most of the time on key, but a good portion of the time they will either not explode at all or they sit there on the ground for 10 seconds while the other players just walk passed it, and then it will explode. Grenades also don't even bounce right. If you throw a something like a grenade overhand and it hits an incline plain (70 degrees lets say), the grenade will never stop in its tracks. That has happen to me before. A person throws a grenade, hits a nice incline and just sticks there (no not a stick grenade, a regular one). Physics will tell you that it would follow the incline to the bottom point where it would settle, but not in Halo 2.

8) Stick Grenades

This is pretty simple, if I throw a stick grenade at your chest and it hits you, you should be stuck. Not the case at all it seems. For me, the stick grenade will either go right through the person or it won't explode at all. I have actually stuck somebody in the head before I died and watched on my screen to only see my grenade completely disappear. Great, it just cost me a kill and possibly the game. The other problem with stick grenades is that most of the time they stick the air around the player. How can a stick grenade stick air? Somebody please explain that to me.

9) Rockets

Honestly, rockets make zero sense in Halo 2. If I shoot a rocket at point blank range, I die. If the other person dies, is a game of chance. Some times the other person will die, which makes perfect sense, but other times, he will survive. How in the world does somebody with no shield survive a rocket that hit them at point blank range? If the opponent fires their rocket at point blank range, I will die and they will only die around 5% of the time. Again, how does that even make a lick of sense? The other problem with rockets is the backsplash variable. A guy is right up against a wall and I fire a rocket hitting the wall behind them, they don't die. I'm 10 feet away from the wall and a guy fires a rocket to the wall behind me, I die. Again, it makes no sense.

10) Battle Rifle

This weapon is the single thing that ruins the game completely. Even with all the other problems, the game would still be playable without the Battle Rifle. If somebody uses the Double Shot glitch, they are practically two people because they are firing twice at once and never have to reload. If you can't double shot, you're screwed against these people. It takes 4 shots to the head for you, 2 for them. If they can Quad Shot, you might as well put the controller down. The BXR glitch also gives the player an unfair advantage since they can kill you in one hit at close range while it still takes you more than one. Again, against somebody that can BXR, you're going to lose more than half the time. There's also the fact that shooting makes no sense. If you pay attention, the bullets actually fire from different places. I have been double shot before when the shot came from over their shoulder and below their knee. Know what that means? If you jump or crouch, you will get hit either way. You can also seem to shoot across an entire map when double shooting causing maximum damage, which violates the laws of physics.

11) Reload Glitch

This also ruins the game because in a fire fight, if both players have to reload and one of them knows the reload glitch, you will lose. This applies to all weapons, but especially rockets and battle rifle. If you're playing team rockets and both players fire two rockets and miss, you both have to reload. If the other knows the reload glitch, you're screwed and he'll unleash two more rockets before you get done reloading.

12) Warthog Gunner

If you stick the warthog on its passenger side, it has a good chance of killing the driver, but not the gunner. Now, that part makes sense due to the distance and material between the two. If you throw a stick grenade and stick the bumper or even the gunner itself, the gunner will live. I have yet to actually kill the gunner when sticking the gunner the first time. It always takes 2 or 3 grenades to kill the gunner. So let me get this straight, if you stick a person, he dies, but if you stick a person while on the warthog gunner, he lives? Halo 2, you always seem to amaze me and defy the laws of physics and nature.

13) Threats & Harassment

I have no idea what is wrong with the people that play this game on Xbox Live, but they are messed up in the head. There a few people that actually harass me and my team whenever in the same game. They will repeat the same thing over and over again to everybody that comes into the room, mic or no mic. There is one guy in particular who started the game off by shooting me up, trying to team-kill me. I return the favor and fired back. He then said he would "hack my IP and my internet would be gone in 5 minutes". If that isn't a threat, I don't know what is. I also played against a team of 14 or 15 year olds on Colossus. I recorded 25 kills against them, including a running riot. I used the Battle Riffle and didn't once glitch with it. At the end of the game he said he would "report me because there is no way I could get 25 kills without cheating".

14) Underage & Cursing

I honestly don't know the age limit off-hand, but I have played with dozens of kids that were 12 or younger. Heck, I once played against an 8 year old. The only thing worse than an underage kid, is a kid in general that must use every 4 letter word in the book and call everybody in every game the N word. Even though those are bad, the absolute worse is a person who is 25+ years old and still acts like a kid (cursing, team killing, "your mom" jokes, crude language, racial remarks, etc.) just because they are covered by the anonymity that is the internet.

15) Unused Maps

Last time I checked there were 20+ maps that can be chosen from. Fact is, only a hand full of them are actually played. I honestly have only played on half of them at least once and maybe half of those more than a dozen or so times. Think about that now, I have played on only 8 or so of the maps more than a dozen times in 3+ years since all the maps have been out. In those 3+ years I have played probably hundreds of games.

16) Doing Nothing About It

Any great gaming community would have done something about all this. They would have patched the problems and banned the cheaters right away. Right from the start, Bungie did nothing. They banned only moders and introduced more glitches than they fixed.

Everything you just named except number 3 actually applies to Halo 3 equally if not more than Halo 2.

And no one will take your argument seriously when you use hyperboles way to often and in inappropriate situations.

I didn't exaggerate once. Everything I wrote has actually happened to me and my team numerous times (real amount differs depending on what exactly is in question). Please, tell me how I'm exaggerating when everything I wrote is a fact.

The only reason why I play is because when I do get a game when the other team doesn't cheat, my team always win. The only time we lose is when the other teams cheats. Big Team Battle is also fun when people don't quit, which rarely happens. It's really the only game type worth playing because there's usually a good amount of cheaters on both teams which balances it out.

Stating your team always wins if you are not cheated is the kind of exaggeration Floozy was talking about. Nobody wins all games, minus being cheated. But hey, you hate H2 online and you came into this forum just to say so. So go you, your job is complete.

Dam, I miss the old days playing halo 2 with my old brothers in arms. Thank you my old friends for giving me this account, I shall continue our legacy.

we don't take kindly to you bashing halo 2. it is still one of the greatest games ever made. it revolutionized online gaming on console games and took gaming to new heights. without halo 2 their wouldn't be a halo 3.

R.I.P. Halo 2 11/9/04-4/15/10
If you havn't played Halo 2 online than you are missing so much. Plus if you have played a good amount of Halo 2 online, I might have a better chance of listening to anything you say.

Your post is full of fail. Some of your statements have nothing to do with the game itself.

1) Every game has host advantage. Halo 3 has an even bigger host advantage because most weapons have horrible shot registration.

2) This is made up BS. You cant lunge 15-20 feet with any weapon even the sword.

3) This does exiist however, You can take out the scope of the sniper by shooting him. Why do you just look at the sniper? Shoot him, its not that hard.

4) Since anyone can super bounce, this is not a bannable offense. If you are good you can easily take out someone who bounced.

5) Halo 2 barely has anyone left playing it. What do you want us to do? It is very difficult to find games in ranked when Halo 2 peaks at 2000 people online at once. If you want to see unbalanced teams, go to Halo 3.

6) I have no idea what you are talking about? This has never happened to me and therefore you are probably lieing or got modded. The only flag cheat is on Terminal where you can score the flag from the bottom of the base.

7) This sounds like you mean Auto Aim with grenades? Which is not possible, not even with mods can you have auto aim with grenades. And the other part of 7 is just severe lag, fix your connection.

8) Again caused by lag, it happens in Halo 3 aswell.

9) Again caused by lag, or you are just making up crap or the guy had overshield

10) This is the biggest fail of your post. If someone is good enough to double shot or BXR you without much trouble than they will out BR you or kill you without Double shot or BXR. It is very difficult to aim and double shot at the same time, so that person is obviously more skilled than you.

11) lol where do you come up with these ideas. I have never seen any sort of reload glitch and if there was it is caused by LAG.

12) Your connection must be really bad, Yet again caused by lag. When I stick a warthog gunner he dies.

13) This has nothing to do with Halo 2 itself and happens in Halo 3 more than Halo 2. Just report the guy and move on.

14) Again this exists in Halo 3 more than Halo 2. People have the freedom of speech so you cant judge them. And this has nothing to do with the game itself.

15) To play all of the maps, you need to play all of the playlists. Although Tombstone and Desolation could use a lower weighting.

16) Nothing needs to be done. The game is perfect as is. The game that needs something done about it is Halo 3 because that game has so many problems with it.

Oh and also, this game is not a "realistic" shooter so therefore it does not matter if it defys the laws of physics. Im sure energy shields defy those laws too lmao =D

1) Not all games have host advantage. Ever played a good PC FPS? I play CSS all the time and have never ran into this in all my time of playing it.

2) No, this is not made up. I have actually been lunged at from 15 feet away from people without a sword. I can be shooting them up with a Battle Rifle and the next thing I know, they shot me and then lunge 15 feet and kill me. It happens to me at least once every game.

3) I shoot at the sniper from different angles and behind cover all the time, problem is that no matter how many times I shoot him, I still get sniped. I could be using the Battle Rifle at a distance and he'll still hit me even if I'm moving around in all directions and jumping. Its like his scope never goes down when he gets hit. Either that or every good sniper I play is a master at no-scoping.

4) Not when they super-bounce and break the barrier of the map like on Turf. You can't take them out when they can hide anywhere in the level and you can't touch them. Sucks even more when they have the flag and they have unlimited "sudden death" time. You're forced to quit because they can just leave the game running and you're screwed.

5) That isn't the point. The point is that nobody plays ranked games because they are afraid of losing their level so you always end up against level 30+ guys in team training, which was meant for inexperienced players learning the game.

6) Again, I'm not lying. I guess I got modded then. I really wouldn't doubt it since Halo 2 hasn't been updated in 3 years and I'm sure there are new mod chips out there that are undetectable by Xbox Live.

7) So you're saying it's lag even though I'm the only connection running in my house, with a 8mb connection, low ping times (below 40) and all players in the game have green connection bars? Yep, it must be my crappy connection even though in games like CSS on the PC my ping is always in the 20 range and I never suffer any lag.

8) See #7

9) See #7. Also, I'm not making of this up. You can believe that if you wish, but that would only because you're afraid that one of your favorite games is actually bug ridden and filled with nothing but cheating players and illogical physics. How can the guy have a shield on if it always seems to happen on Foundation, a level where there is no overshield?

10) I can move in all directions and do everything in my power to avoid being double-shot, but it doesn't work. Yes, I actually do beat a double-shot from time to time using a Battle Rifle and not glitching like them, but it doesn't happen often. The fact is, double-shooting is cheating. It's a glitch and declared cheating by Bungie. The people I face can double-shot and quad-shot while aiming really easy. They either use the claw grip or they have a modded Xbox or controller, but the odds that 3/4 of the people we face have a modded Xbox or controller is slim to none.

11) XYY or XBX will cancel the animation process at a certain point when reloading. For example, when reloading the Battle Rifle, if you press XYY right after the clip touches the gun, it will cancel out the rest of the animation and still shows that you have reloaded.

12) See #7. Again, I have stuck the gunner of the warthog numerous times and they don't die. The most that happens is the warthog will flip and roll, but the gunner will just be blinking. It's easy to kill him at this point, but it's still illogical that he doesn't die when stuck.

13) True it doesn't have to do with Halo 2, but it's part of the community, which indirectly has to do with Halo 2. The fanbase often represents the game, just like in music. I figure, why bother reporting him? If Bungie doesn't ban cheaters, why would they ban something of less effect like those who threaten or harass others?

14) See #13. If the player is underage, they should be banned. It's really that simple. If they aren't, why have an age limit? No, people don't have freedom of speech. You only have limited speech because at some point, what you say can get you into trouble. Why is there a report option for crude language then? Doesn't seem like freedom of speech to me if you can get in trouble for it.

15) In only play game types, Team Training and Big Team Battle. I would figure I would play in the bigger maps in BTB since it has 16 players, but no, I'm constantly playing Lockout. There are a few maps that I have never played online, which includes the times I played ranked games.

16) So you're saying that nothing needs to be done about a game filled with glitches and cheaters? So you're okay playing a bug ridden game? Man, you must have incredibly low standards.

Granted, but a game should still make sense within its own reality, which Halo 2 doesn't. The game might as well be updated so that everybody can double-shot with the battle rifle right off the bat. At least that will make the game a little more fair. If I throw a grenade overhand and it skips against the ground, it would be of reason that if I threw it at an incline, it would bounce. The fact that it doesn't doesn't make sense at all. Halo 2 just doesn't make sense within its own reality.

Obvious post by a Halo 2 fanboy who has nothing to say. I have clearly proven that Halo 2 is just a bug ridden game and the only people that like it are cheaters and children.

If you people believe Halo 2 is revolutionary, you're dead wrong and blinded by your fanboyism. Dozens upon dozens of FPS were released before Halo 2 and Halo that are 100x times better than this piece of crap. They also contain every option Halo 2 does, but they're more refined. Halo, Halo 2, or Halo 3 aren't revolutionary and have never been good. The only people that like the three games are cheaters and fanboys.

In your opinion.

You mentioned Counter-Strike Source earlier in this thread, I personally feel that Counter-Strike and Half-Life are severely overrated, but I don't go onto their respective boards and complain about them.

You're dumb in the sense that you come onto a HALO 2 FORUM and call people fanboys for trying to defend a game that THEY OBVIOUSLY LIKE. If you can't see how pathetic you are acting than that is truly sad.

Why anyone would troll this forum nearly 5 years after a game is released is beyond me. Halo 2 was by no means perfect but that is no reason to declare the entire fanbase "kids and cheaters". It certainly wasn't the worst game ever so I'm not sure what anyone can prove here.

First, yes, I know this game is years old, but there is no way these types of bugs and glitches shouldn't have been patched right away. It was the update in 2006 that actually made most of these glitches. Any respectable PC game would have been patched right away.

Second, if you haven't faced most of these problems, you obviously don't play Matchmaking a lot. All you have to do is play Team Training and you'll face all sorts of cheaters. The only people that don't notice the cheaters are those who cheat themselves.

Third, for the person who said that double-shooting while moving is hard, you clearly don't play this game enough. Every game I play 3/4 of the opposing team can double-shot and move perfectly. I believe the same person said they didn't know what the reload glitch was, which means you obviously haven't played Halo 2 in Matchmaking enough.

Fourth, I'm not trolling. If by trolling you mean "stating facts", then yes, I'm trolling. Again, the only people that defend these types of bugs are fanboys and cheaters themselves.

Finally, yes, this game is filled with nothing but little kids and cheaters. Again, 3/4 of every opposing team I play are cheaters. The last player either quits because they don't like the game type (read: they only play Team Slayer Battle Rifle/Team Slayer Rifle/etc.) or it's a little 13 year old kid or younger. Again, the only people that don't notice this are cheaters themselves.

You haven't spoken any truths, only your opinion. You have a right to type what you want until such time as a Ninja decides otherwise. My personal opinion of you is that you are a troll. Look up the definition of an internet troll and that is you. You purposefully disrupt threads and I believe you get a certain, lonely, joy out of it.
