Play as a team win as a team or die as a team!

"he is spost to have unbreakable bones
why does he die when you fall
it is stupid
he can fly in space in his suit, but not jump alittle

come the -blam!- on, bungie"

I have a question this guy made a Thread that was pretty good and made sence but it got block (stop). Which this one will as well i bet. But its true i think Bungie messed up somewhere or something i don't know but y will they close a Thread where one was spaming and stuff. Well what ever talk about the topic about the Spartans and stuff or don't.

Having a suit that can travel in a vacuum has nothing to do with fall damage... of course he will be hurt if he falls from high places, that is like asking if he will be hurt when he is shot with a shotgun in the face.

ok first off nothing is unbreakable, secondly falls will still damage soft tissues like kidney's muscle heart lungs brain etc. thirdly in first strike a bunch of spartans did drop from a pelican at a relativly high altitude and survived it was miraculous and many of them cracked ribs, broke their suits and i can't remember but i believe one or two died

The book never stated their bones were "unbreakable", the SPARTANS went through augmentation to harden them. Pay more attention stupid

Bungie didn't mess up anything, if anyone made mistakes it was Eric Nylund and some of the inconsistencies between Halo: Fall of Reach and Halo: First Strike.

Overall, the two books were fairly compatable, but some of the situations that were mentioned were sort of hard to believe. One such example as mentioned in the last thread that got locked was the fact that a number of Spartans bailed out of a aircraft and dropped to the ground from 2 kilometres yet survived. I don't care how unbreakable are enhanced your bones are, your internal organs would suffer some severe damage, and probably would not survive, or if so, would be incapacitated. A few were killed, a few survived but for the most part, in my opinion anyways, at that point all of the Spartans should be dead.

yeah, i think it was more like 4 died, out of like 20 that dropped out of the pelican, most had broken bones and torn tendens, 2 or 3 couldnt move and like only one or 2 werent hurt, its realistic, they are supersoldiers....but they have their limits

Read the first fauking book. It says their bones are unbreakable. 4 died by the fall 6 with serious injuries. I didnt say anything about their soft tissues. The book said bones cannot break and then they say they break. its all messed up

Perhaps you're taking it all a bit too literally (there is a thing called metaphor, ya know). And you should know that nothing is unbreakable...

I'm sorry, I just don't see that as realistic. The Spartans went through a number of augmentations, but none of which enhanced the stability and amount of damage that could be taken by their enternal organs. When they landed on the ground, their organs would slam into the area in which was landed on and would probably be of no use what so ever after.

Also, in the book it states: "Carbide ceramic ossification: advanced material grafting onto skeletal structures to make bones virtually unbreakable." (page 57 Fall of Reach). So yes, Nylund states the Spartan's bones were unbreakable.

i agree, even with the injuries that they get, i dont believe even a spartan can "suck up" a torn achilles tendon.....which i think one of spartan's injuries was, i guess it ISNT very realistic, but still, at least they all didnt land scratch free LOL

Ermm... he didn't have a parachute, and even if he did, he weighs like 2 tons, and it wouldn't really slow him down much... ya...

If any of the Spartans had parachutes, I am pretty sure the book would have stated them using them.

Yeah but Halo is a different classification then just 'sci-fi'. Halo has a fairly realistic and possible story-line. Considering it's 500 years in the future, many of the technological advancements in Halo could very well happen.

Some people just don't understand. Yes it would be cool to leap off of the first bridge on AOTR And land on the ground only to say "Wow, that was different." But you have to understand games need limits. And they don't want you jumping throught the entire game, passing up the cool parts and/or not even seeing some of the stuff the programmers went through hard work to do.

People make mistakes. I wish I didn't, but I do, and so do you. Quit being so critical of everyone else. As far as falling from heights, purely game balance. Even if he is a Spartan, I don't wanna feel like Superman.
