So lets get this straight:
$60 for a new campaign, a brand new cooperative game mode, every other great feature from Halo 3, Halo 3' award winning multiplayer suite with all maps ever (Including Free and Premium DLC) plus 3 new maps is your idea of being ripped off?
Then my friend, you got ripped off bad with Halo 3 and Halo 2 and Halo CE and every other game out there.
I know right.
Some people are getting the illusion they're getting ripped off because BUNGiE first said they wouldn't consider Halo 3: ODST more then an expansion.
It changed people, now it's a full game with loads of content and worth the 60 bucks.
That is in fact the problem. The moment Bungie mentioned 'Expansion', everyone and their mums latched on to that idea. Even now, when Bungie has repeatedly said that its much bigger in scope and scale, no on is willing to let that idea go.
Its no one's fault really. Bungie never knew they were going to turn ODST into something much, much more than what it originally was conceived to be. And it was stressed on the fan community that it would be an expansion pack and even in Game Informer, they mentioned that they were not looking at a full price.
But, you guys do the math.
Halo 3 had a campaign, multiplayer, Forge, Online Integration, Forge, Saved Films, Custom Games, 4 Player Online Co-op.
Halo 3: ODST has everything that shipped in Halo 3 plus 13 new maps, a different campaign and a brand new game mode. Moreover, it was developed by a much smaller team than Halo 3.
Halo 3: ODST has much more content than Halo 3 and was made by far less people in a much shorter period of time. Than in of itself, makes me salute to Bungie and buy the game. Granted, most of everything was already done but that's not what I'm getting at.
Halo 3, back in 2007, was probably the most content heavy pieces of entertainment ever, or at least on a console. Even now, nearly 2 years after ship, no game has beat that. And you're getting Halo 3: ODST that tops all that and you're still complaining? Its also probably the most supported game out there, yes, even comparing to the brilliant work Valve has been doing.
Halo 3: ODST is no longer an expansion pack people. Its a game. A huge, beefier game than even Halo 3. If you think its not worth forking up $60 for this game, no other game deserves it.
