Reuters has a story today that says that Bungie founder Alexander Seropian has started a new company, Wideload Games Inc., based in Chicago.

The studio is presently working on a new game for Xbox and PC, to be released in 2005, that is based on Halo's engine.

A Bungie founder? Halo's engine? I'm there.

Anyone know why he would do this, instead of hiring more poeple to bungie for a new game?

He left Bungie and moved back to Chicago during the summer of 2002 after becoming a father. I guess he just wanted to be closer to family, not to mention slow down a little after a hectic few years.

Maybe someone at Bungie could shed some light on this, I did some searching on Google and found a couple sites that referenced a Q&A on Bungie.net circa that time period, but the links to Bungie were broken, probably due to the site relaunch. At any rate, I have not been able to find that Q&A by browsing this site, either. It's probably because I'm not searching in the right place!

I'd like to play any game with the Halo engine, especially if it has a good story like Halo did.

Using the Halo engine means using Halo's graphics and physic engines.

Using the Halo engine also means that it will rock.

But you knew that... I mean, how couldn't you?

well if thats all that using halos engine means then that doesnt really mean the game will be good, only means it will LOOK good, and really i dont know how good it will look because ive compared pic from halo and halo 2, and halo 2's graphics are way better than halos, i mean after seeing what the new mc looks like, the original looks like it was drawn with a crayon, no offense to bungie on that because when halo first came out mc looked awesome, so im not sure how halo's engine will stand up to the looks of new video games like halo 2

If Wideload is made up of ex-Bungie employees; and long-time ex-Bungie employees, I think it's safe to say that all aspects of the game will be good.

I'm sure that they might make a few modification to the engine.
