In my opinion, (dont know if this is true or not) but the matchmaking code and stuff isn't on Disc 1 and it would be dumb to include matchmaking code just for one game mode. I think Bungie would have put Firefight on Disc 2, but then that would involve cloning all of the AI and stuff onto Disc 2, taking up tons of space. I think its really just a matter of disc space and practicality. I would rather have no matchmaking than limited code and a near-useless disc 1.

I can only please one person per day.

Today isn't your day.

Tomorrow isn't looking too good either.

I am getting extrodinarly tired of devs assuming people have friends to play with.

It is too bad that FireFight doesn't have matchmaking in ODST, but at least Bungie may hear our pleas so that if Halo Reach has a FireFight mode we might get matchmaking in it.

FEET FIRST INTO HELL

Am i the long person out there in the Halo community that thinks that Bungie made the wrong choice not including a match making system for FireFight, meaning that you have to invite three friends who are willing to play at the time in order to have a full match going. I have plenty of friends on XBL who are going to get the game and willing to play but it's just sometimes i'm on and there off and it's a big pain to get a match going. Well do you guys think about it ?

what this is the first time I heard about this, why didn't they put mm in?

I'm glad it doesn't. I really don't want to be matched up with some 12yr old, yelling kid. Some ppl with no mics, or some guy/kid who tries to kill steal for points and have his spot over run with hammer chieftains.

We're not talking compulsory matchmaking here, just the option to play with random people if you choose. I can't see an argument against having MM to be honest, unless there is some difficulty in implementing it (which I doubt).

I think that the matches will last too long to be put into matchmaking. If you think about it, some may last many hours with the same group. You would have to wait forever in the waiting lobby to find a match with all those games.

I'm pretty dissapointed that there isn't Firefight matchmaking, but at least I have my brother to play with. I'll be happy with just me and him on a team.

Anybody who doesn't want the option to use a Matchmaking service for Firefight is a complete fool.

Not to mention selfish. Think about it, if MM is included they can just play private, its win win. But if MM isn't included the people who want it lose out whilst they're still having a great time playing with all their friends.

Armor Lock isn't overpowered. You just suck at Reach :)

Reach isn't bad, you're just a BK :)

For my gamertag, look up "Ghoulishtie"

Boo hoo.

Find some friends to play with.

Check out my group if you love talking about music.
The Haven for Music
Another good groupNew Mombasa

There are 2 groups that I am a part of that are dedicated to helping people find others to play with.

I won't say what their names are but if you look you will find them.

A Hell Jumper - Heroic, a Spartan - Legendary, be We're Mythic; Spartan Mythic Team.
Mythic Actual / Mythic 1
Post to everyone who complains about Reach instead of shutting up and playing something else. http://initiativedesignz.webs.com/HaloReachStuff/Fixn.jpg

I can play alone- or find SOMEONE who is getting the game. :P I don't care too much.

Go Rams and Missouri!

I wouldn't like relying on strangers anyway, it's bad enough having to do that in Team Slayer.

There would still be Private matches. Sure, ODST's Firefight is going to be the best with friends, but what if I don't have friends online and I feel like some big action?

Holla bip bip!!

Not having MM is such a bad move. It doesn't matter if you have the friends on the game or not. Why?

If you don't have friends: You are ultimately screwed, and forced to post on here or gamefaqs to find strangers to play with. Hello, people are lazy these days. Plus some people like myself are not to comfortable with strangers.

If you have friends: If you have only two or one you won't get achievements or feel the whole experience. If you have more than 4 then somebody will be screwed and left out of the group. Sorry yourname001, you can't play with us we got a full party. And no they don't want to play rumble pit alone, while everyone in there party shouts with glee.

MM does much more good than bad. It sells more copies and gives the game a better look. If bungie can't change it then it's just a terrible move on their part. All game critics will point out the obvious flaw when it hits the shelves.

Gamespot will review Halo ODST and say, "The Halo genre keeps getting better and more unique. The new fire fight mode is great, but the game lacks the match online experience that seems to be a must in games today."

Well, my friends are always great teammates, where if you tried to find another player, he/she might go Rambo and get killed all seven times before the first round is over.

A risk I'd be willing to take.

Here’s what Luke had to say about the differences in treatment between the Spartans and Elites in Reach:

“Instead of piece-by-piece customization like the Spartans, Elite customization is a full model swap with models selected from the various Elite classes appearing throughout the Campaign. There are all kinds of reasons for this, not the least of which is our continued emphasis on the Spartan as your identity in Reach.”

Im disappointed, but there are ways around it.

I joined this group. They have a silver account with all of the members as friends, so you can see who else is online who wants to play Firefight.

I'm glad that there isn't MM for FF, my reasons:

I get stuck with people in a party
I get stuck with n00bs who think their playing lone wolves
I get stuck with people with no mics
I get stuck with n00bs who think their in lone wolves are in a party and have no mics

You hit the nail on the head with this post, great reasoning as to why Firefight will need a match making option.
