Sorry, I can't hear them over the sounds of Modern Warfare 3 on my Turtle Beaches.

There's also ultra grunts (white grunts). These have even more armor than the heavies.

Those weren't in Halo 3 unless the Thunderstorm Skull was turned on. So likely the same mechanics would apply.

It turned all Grunts except Grunt Heavies into Grunt Ultras. (The Thunderstorm Skull.)

Judging from the Halo 3 campaign post-game carnage report, I'd say it goes like this:

1. Brute Infantry
-Brute Minor
-Brute Major
-Brute Ultra
2. Brute Captain
-Brute Captain
-Brute Captain Major
-Brute Captain Ultra
3. Brute Hero
-Brute Chieftain - Weapon
-Brute Chieftain - Armour
4. Brute Specialist
-Brute Stalker
-Brute Jumppack
-Brute Bodyguard
5. Jackal Infantry
-Jackal Minor
6. Jackal Specialist
-Jackal Sniper
7. Grunt
-Grunt Minor
-Grunt Major
-Grunt Heavy
-Grunt Spec-Ops
8. Hunter Specialist
-Hunter
9. Drone Infantry
-Drone Minor
10. Drone Infantry
-Drone Major

Strange that the two very similar types of Drone should recieve their own column when all four Grunt types are bundled into one, but I can't see anything significant in it.

The other two columns are likely devoted to units that aren't present on Alpha Site. Grunt Specialist is possible (leaving column seven devoted solely to Grunt Infantry), though I find it hard to believe that not a single one was present throughout the entire session.

As for the final column... Well I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

NB. Any unit preceded by a dash indicates a variant of the above unit type, each of which is preceded by a number.

With help from porkstein, we think we've cracked the Postgame Carnage Report

1. Brute Infantry
-Brute Minor
-Brute Major
-Brute Ultra
2. Brute Captain
-Brute Captain
-Brute Captain Major
-Brute Captain Ultra
3. Brute Hero
-Brute Chieftain - Weapon
-Brute Chieftain - Armour
4. Brute Specialist
-Brute Stalker
-Brute Jumppack
-Brute Bodyguard
5. Jackal Infantry
-Jackal Minor
6. Jackal Specialist
-Jackal Sniper
7. Grunt
-Grunt Minor
-Grunt Major
-Grunt Heavy
-Grunt SpecOps
8. Hunter Specialist
-Hunter
9. Drone Infantry
-Drone Minor
-Drone Major
10. Drone Specialist
-"Shielded" Drone
11. Engineer Specialist
-Engineer

AND POSSIBLY

12. Elite Infantry
-Elite Minor
-Elite Major
-Elite Ultra
-Elite Zealot

Looks like I might have been wrong, it appears that all Grunts are bundled into one row.

Now, the Engineer is slated to appear in ODST yet it has no vital role in combat - except for repairing Covenant units in battle.

The last row can't be Elites because they "aren't" slated to appear in ODST yet would have better combat ability than an Engineer. If Elites were in, I'm not saying they are or should be in, then the last row would be for the Elites.

*Note Elites are HIGHLY UNLIKELY or NOT in the game and the appearance of Engineers is confirmed for Campaign, as for Firefight, it's unknown. Original concept by porkstein.

nice find!

  • 07.29.2009 10:45 AM PDT

w8! there are 2 empty columns at the right. That could mean that there are 2 more enemies but they are not in this map or something like that

Cracked.

Read porkstein's post and my post.

We think we've found out what the last two blank slots may be.

thunderstorm isn't in firefight

also, URK has confirmed that elites are not in firefight either

So no Grunt Ultras or Elites.

That complicates things.

Then what fills the last slot is unknown. One has to be the Engineer or not. What could the last two be?!?!

Cancel this post going to give it it's own thread.

i have a feeling heavy grunts are separate, because they would only show up on firefight maps with ghosts, and this is alpha sites carnage report, alpha site does not have vehicles or phantoms with turret grunts.

  • 07.29.2009 11:13 AM PDT

Bungie confirmed NO ELITES could everyone stop with the "Elites in Firefight" cause their ISN'T, it is confirmed in an update months ago!

So then the last slot has to be....:

Grunt Specialist
-Grunt Heavy
-Grunt SpecOps

That would solve the entire postcarnage report. Engineers and Grunt Specialists.

Good work, boys!

I suggest. DANCE PARTY!

*Dances*

Edit: Strike that. I don't think Grunts would fit the last spot. Engies would.

The Grunt Specialists would just appear next to the normal grunts. pushing Engies to the last spot.

Maybe... HES LYING! Nah I was just joking. My guess is that the two spots are Elite Infantry and Elite Specialists. Or could be an Engineer and some other class.

you know what would be amazing?

if at wave 25 you needed to kill a prophet in their teleporting hover chair of doom.

you should rewrite (copy/paste) the list on the front page, then add the changes.

also you need to add carbine jackals under jackal specialist

  • 07.29.2009 11:29 AM PDT

Good work, however, I have two questions.

Maybe I just read over it or I forgot it but how do we know that Engineers appear in Halo3:ODST?

And what is a shielded Drone? Never seen anything like it.

Engineers are confirmed, I read it on Halopedia.

A shielded Drone is a new type of Drone that has a shield system. I also believe they use Brute Plasma Rifles, making this one of the oddest enemies in Halo.

Sadly, no Elites.

New Drones sound interesting. But what about Gold Hunters? Remember from the E3 trailer?

And I do hope they bring Elites back.. The more enemy variety the better.

Why anyone thinks it was gold is beyond me. If you guys haven't already noticed, it's just the sun gleaming off the Hunter's armor making it seem gold coloured.

Engineers are confirmed as there are two achievements in ODST that require to kill or not kill any Engineers at night in the city.

That is leaked information and therefore against Forum rules. Engineers also don't attack people. They're technicians, not warriors. They would be a waste of ammo.

Only problem is that the bastards can't be stuck. I spent 5 minutes trying to do so...then about 4 Elite Honour Guards lynched me.

There, fixed it, leaked info. is gone.

Happy?

1. Engineers = Easy kills and can help repair turrets and Covenant vehicles.

2. This is the only enemy that can fill the last slot. Grunt Specialists have one, Elties can't be in the game. So the Engineer has to fill the last slot.

  • 07.29.2009 12:17 PM PDT

Im ok with the engineers, but where did you see those shielded drones? Is there any evidence?
