I'd put back the BR or... Maybe this... Also, I'd take out the crappy pistol and take off the scope from the SMG.[/quote]
No (also, it's a red dot sight). Also, I would change nothing because Bungie is focusing on nostalgia..and I like it!
Nope, both the crappy pistol and SMG have scopes.
You obviously don't know your equipment. A scope is a circular tube with glass on both ends in which you can see through, which is what a Battle Rifle has. A red dot sight, on the other hand, is a small attachment at the top of a weapon that is usually either ovular or circular that is not a tube and is flat that projects a small red dot on the screen, which is what the M7S has.
Oh, I know my weapons system equipment quite well. This gameplay obviously shows that the SMG may have a RDS attached to it, but when you "zoom" in, you have a scope.
That's os because you don't have the option to look down the sights. It is still, technically, a red dot sight and should be acknowledged as such.
Just because you're feeling smart, I'd like to point out that you're both wrong. The aimpoint on the SMG is most likely a Holographic Reflex Sight (A futuristic equivelant of EOTech's 551 and 552, or the MARS distributed with the IMI TAVOR). Now, technically, most red dot sights are reflex sights. So there is an RDS on here. But it should actually be referred to by its proper name, a Reflex Sight. In addition- relating to the scope. Because the player is not seen looking down the sights of the weapon, it can be assumed that the Reflex was added for Standard Marine troops that might use the weapon. The ODST's helmets appear to offer a magnified view, in addition to digital crosshairs. This is likely taken from a camera mounted in the sight, or refracted down the barrel as seen in modern SLR cameras.
